Stupid Newbee and Wordpress

I would like to start a blog, and be able to add and create some galleries also, with a thumbnail on the page that links to the gallery.
examples: http://photomatt.net/photos/log/
http://www.topclassnudes.com/

I got wordpress installed, and I believe that I need some plug-ins to get the galleries and thumbnails going.

This is my first time with blogs, and I am a bit confused.

Thanks for any help.

Rachel

To add an image into a post, it's best to use the non-enhanced text editor to write your posts (go to Options> Writing and in "formatting" untick the "Use the visual rich editor by default").

So the plain text editor gives you the option to put in an < img > tag. I have a special folder on my blog directory where I put my pics, and I link my images to that. That way you can put in nice big sample photos and then link to the gallery from that.

I am fairly new to this whole blogging thing too, but have had good results. A little effort will pay off in the long run.
If you use the built in tools found in a standard build wordpress installation you will be able to achieve the results that you are looking for. Play around with it for a while- you will be surprised with yourself. |thumb

PM me with specifics if you need some help.

Thanks, I will play with it and if I run into anything (wall) I will try and cry for help.

I just read that post of mine and it's a bit confusing. Sorry.

I had no real idea what I was doing when I set up my wordpress blog at the start of this year. Experimenting combined with reading the Wordpress documentation has been the main way I've learned

Also asking questions here. Do a board search to see if anyone has asked a similar question before.
