Manual Submissions and Paying for Partners
Hey everyone,
So I decided to follow the advice of the wise folks here and manually submit my free sites instead of using an autosubmitter. I have done the recommended multiple tab setup which has thus far seemed to work well. Manually submitting takes more time per submission, sure (and I know, begging to get off BLs takes more time :) ), and I think it'll be worth it. I'm just wondering, though... Roughly, how many sites should I be submitting to? I know I can do as many as I feel like, and the possibilities are endless, but I don't have the whole day to submit. How many link lists, on average, do people manually submit to? Ballpark figure? Also, for the most part, is it worth it to pay for partner accounts? If I've got the money to invest into making my submitting more profitable, should I spend it on partner accounts? Buy traffic? Any other recommendations? Thanks! |
Currently I submit to sixty, and every month or so I tweak things and usually add a few more.
Some submitters submit to way over a hundred, but I've seen plenty of advisory posts on GG&J suggesting that you can be just as effective with a regular submit list of 12-20 "established" link lists. I've never paid for a partner account, but I would be more than happy to invest $50-$100 in a partner account at the right site. :) |
If it's a one time purchase, sure. If it's a monthly fee you can try it for a few months and weigh it against sales. If it makes sense financially, so be it. ;)
I make sales on warning pages grouped with small lists. For a few minutes of extra effort it's worth it to submit to anyone who lists you and sends enough traffic, IMO. KG Gary gives some good advice: every so often make it a point to drop the unproductive and add even more. When your list of freesites, and places you're submitting to starts to grow so will the sales. |thumb |
I have 84 ll's on my submit list right now. Im always looking for new lists to submit to. If they list my sites Ill keep submitting to them regardless of how many visitors they send. If they never list me, Ill eventually figure it out and remove them from my submit list and put them into my "dont submit to" bookmark folder. I also use the firefox tab method to submit and like you said, its fast enough to not worry too much about how many sites Im submitting to.

Where can you buy partners accs freesite wise ? I've seen like 2 places charging so far.
I submit to about 150 linklists daily by hand right now. |
It all depends really. I agree with WarBot alot though, if they list you, keep submitting to them. When I started I submitted to 20, and then added 5 every time I submitted, checked who listed me, and updated my list.
The best suggestion I can give, is to make as big a list of active linklists as you can, and sort them by traffic, and just go down the list till you run out of time. That way, if you only have time to submit to 20, you will atleast get the 20 with the most traffic. Thats how I would always do it, on days I had plenty of time I would end up submitting to about 150 or so. |
The biggest problem with submitting to so many different lists is
1.) its hard to keep track of who's listing you and who's not (over a month of submits and a few havent even sent hits from their review admin) 2.) when you submit to a different niche you have to go and grab the new niche recip from every one of the lists (can take a very long time if you use custom recips like I do) 3.) ... It takes quite a while (unless you can figure out this robo form thing) to submit to all the lists. Benifits are 1.) even if the site deosnt send alot of hits every little bit helps 2.) you never know who the next big list will be, they all start out small 3.) search engines spider small sites too |
WarBot is correct on that every little bit helps. In the beginning I was submitting to about 70 then I cut it down to top 20 traffic wise while I was working on other stuff. The reality of it all is that sales did drop a bit. Sometimes you just never know where that sale is going to come from. It may just be coming from the list that sends 10 hits versus 1000. Plus how long does it actually take to mirror the site and submit.
I also agree with neticule that if you cannot submit to everyone ya want today then submit to who ya can and the others tomorrow that is if you are not building/submitting everyday in which case I say take a day off :) |
I'd say submit to as many as you can manage. Tweak your list every other day, removing "dead" or fake lists. Keep in mind many sites are WAY behind on reviews. In some cases years.
If you can submit everyday and your sites are good, a partner account is great to have. Personally, it's useless cause I can't manage to build and submit even 2 sites a week. =/ Ofcourse hits from a site is a factor, but it's not the only factor. SE's pick up on the strangest things... =) |
