MISSING POSTS - BOARD PROBLEMS - In Case You See Weirdness (Part 2)
 

Oh Boy.

Jim ran a bot on the site while logged in as an admin & the bot seems to have started to "click" all the links |pokefun| |Jim

It started to desig everyone, so Sparky restored all the sig files from yesterday.

But, it also started to delete posts inside threads & we have no back up of those prior to last night :(

Not sure what else is fucked, so please be patient :)

I thought I did something wrong, hehe. |huh

Sorry, I was running a site map program and it appears that I clicked everything I could while running it. Things like, de-sig, delete post, close thread...etc.

Never, in a million years did I think it would cause this. But, it looks like we may have to turn back time to last night :)

Just off the phone with Sparky and here is the deal. We could either roll back the posting clock to tomorrow and lose a bunch of posts. Or, we could leave it alone and lose less posts. We decided to leave it alone. I know there are empty threads but go ahead and fill them up again :)

As for weirdness...
As I was running this site map program, I noticed that my default view was set to threaded. I read it linear like most of you. So, I logged into the admin portion of the board to see what I had it set to. Once I logged into that portion of the board script, I gave the map bot access to anything it wanted to click. So, if for some reason, you see weirdness and are not for some reason able to post here letting us know, email me at jim@greenguysboard.com and I will get it fixed.

So, for now...anything posted after 1:30 AM EDT this morning is gone.

Never run a site map program on a board without first logging out :) That is my tip for all of you.

Just so there's no confusion down the road, it did manage to delete posts from yesterday (Aug 21st) as well, as I know I posted in a couple of threads that are now empty.

Not really important, but I get a message saying I should talk to someone in charge about this. :D

I've been out all day and hadn't hit the board since late last night, I read 'new posts' and start with the oldest, so I was getting a LOT of empty threads... but now I know it's not on my end, so it's all cool :D

Geez, I take off for a few days and the place falls apart :D

Since yesterday, each time I visit GG&J I get this message:

I know before yesterday, I was having a total of 59 messages, so definitely there are 2 new "somewhere" there, but where, because when I check my inbox I can't see any new PM there.

Those 88 characters were making me feel slightly challenged!

Probably gone forever. Anyone who sent you a PM yesterday would be smart to resend it.

I saw that my sig was also removed..........why?

I know that it was not following the rules at first having bold letters, but I changed it after! (my sig is ok on other boards, so I had no clue I was in violation at first)

Just let me know guys.......I'm not a newbie, and if I'm not welcome here, than I will move along and remove the button sending people here!
