Tired of Free Site reviews? I Hope NOT!

Here is my first Free Site; I have not submitted it anywhere yet.

http://www.xxxloft.com/fgs/pink01/

What do you think? Good, Bad, Ugly? Please be honest, I want to improve as much as I can, so I am looking for honest criticism.

If you own a link list would you list it?

All opinions are greatly appreciated.

Rachel

Without question, good job. |thumb

Now the bad news, you used Domains by Proxy so you have a hidden whois. Unless you are a trusted submitter that will get you denied most places. :(

Preacher said it, nothing else to add, just wanted to be in here :)

rachelo 2006-08-23 01:27 PM

Thanks, I moved it now:

Better?

All You need to do is add some recips (preferably mine is 1 of them) and submit and keep building and submitting :)

Have fun

Kinda.

If you hadn't signed that last post Rachel I would have said yes. ;)

rachelo 2006-08-23 02:21 PM

Well, it is registered in my husbands name, should I chnge my login to mike?

Preacher 2006-08-23 02:31 PM

Like I said, if you had never signed that post Rachel I would have never known. I wouldn't change your login name and as far as them being different, the info looks real enough so I don't personally have a problem with it. |thumb

Preacher said everything that needs to be said... nothing more to add. Nope nope! :D

Except that your pics are a bit large and heavy. Some lists don't like pics that break the 80-100k mark. If you drop your images down to 750px on the long side you should be more than fine. :)

Btw, I'd list your site as is anyway, so nothing really needed to be added to what Preacher said. |loony|

MrYum 2006-08-24 03:37 AM

Well done Rachel |thumb

The images are a little heavy, but good quality...sooo, as the saying goes...I'd list it :D

Looks good from here - that'd get listed no probs.

A couple of general tips:

1 - Use diff banner shapes from 468*80, esp if you have two on the same page.

2 - Use a bit more / more descriptive text with the banners.

Were the images given to you like that by the sponsor? Looks like they could do with a bit of post-production to lighten them up / add a bit more vibrancy - but that may just be my jaded eyes.

I wouldn't suggest doing that. Some sponsors frown on that sort of thing. They don't want you editing their images. |sad|

But you can read their TOS to be sure if you want. |huh

Your 2257 link opens in new window but I'd list it anyway |thumb

rachelo 2006-08-24 05:07 AM

WOW, Thanks to everybody, it looks like besides the image size, no other problems. I feel quite good since this is my first one.

I will try and add recips today and get it listed.

Again Thanks to all.

LOL - two answers to this :-)))

v1 - You're right... if the images in their web site are not as nice as the images on your web site, then they're less likely to retain.

v2 - If it's PPS and you make decent sales they won't care.

I'm not sure an auto-balance & auto-levels batch really counts as "editing" any more than a sharpen filter or quality when you make thumbs etc.

Anyway, it was just a bye-the-bye on some fairly flat looking images :-)

Fixed the image size and levels a bit, also 2257 opens in the same window now. Also added the recip links, hope it gets listed. Check it out:

you have 2257 links on main and gallery pages too |jackinthe

rachelo 2006-08-24 07:08 AM

They were fixed but not uploaded.
Now it should be good.

johnnybg 2006-08-24 07:50 AM

You should get rid of hardcore banners on warning page. That's the rule on some of the LLs.
