Question

I think I already know the answer but am curious still the same. Are programs such as Advanced Submitter, etc., that supposedly help webmasters to submit their sites to LL a bad thing?

Most of what I've read is that using an autosubmitter for link lists is a good way to get blacklisted but then I see some posts where someone says that it's the best thing since ever.

Thanks

No one I know and trust has ever advised me to use an autosubmitter. Quite the contrary, actually. |sad|

You are maybe referring to my posts in the newbie section? I posted most of that stuff before I actually USED an auto submitter (for tgp galleries). The problem is that even the best auto submitter isnt all that accurate, you end up submitting a toying masturbating gallery to lesbian, gay, etc... categories a 30 year old milf gets submitted to the mature... I was very surprised when I finally started looking at my webstats at the wierd places and categories the auto-submitters was submitting my galleries to.

Besides auto-submitters being not so accurate, submitting is actually the easiest part of a freesite builders job (IMO). If you use firefox and tabs it doesnt take long at all. And if you can figure out roboform you can speed it up even more.

Firefox with tabs = open up IE Explorer, go to the first mirror warning page url (the one with all the recips). Open up the firefox browser, CTRL + T until you have a tab open for all the recips on that mirror page. then go one by one through the tabs and surf to the submit pages of all the sites in that mirror (opening the submit page for each link list on that mirror, each in a different tab) Copy the url from IE and paste it into all the URL spots on each of the tabs, then do the same for site name, description, your name, your email, etc... then go through each one and select the category, and fill in any other info. Then submit each one. Once you have submitted to all the lists on that mirror, go through and click "home" until all of them are showing a blank page then start all over again. Takes like 5 minutes (if that) to submit to all the link lists on each mirror.

I cant remember told me to do it that way, either VirgoHippy or Lemmy I think, but its a very quick, very accurate way to submit and it will keep you off any blacklist or shitlists |thumb

P.S. the above is also a good way to double check your sites before you submit them. Never hurts to surf around it and make sure everythings the way you intended it to be. And the problems I described arent the only problems with auto-submitters. But inaccurate pretty much sums it up. Not to mention 99% of all cheaters, mass submitters, scammers use them.

Good advice. Even the best of freesite builders make mistakes. IMO, if you're not making little mistakes here and there you're probably not trying hard enough to do something new or different each time. |loony|

I'd also like to add that using an autosubmitter takes away one of the most important things with freesite's: building a relationship with reviewers and LL owners. :)

Thanks everyone for confirming what I thought I already knew. It's appreciated.
