What kind of hosted gallery?
 

We've just made 6-700 new hosted galleries to MassiveDollars.com and sent out an email regarding it which got us thinking... would webmasters like us to use wmv instead of mpeg? What about webmasters submitting galleries? It sure could save us (and our webmasters) some bandwidth! ;)

Currently we're only using mpegs, but "everyone" can also watch wmv's these days... what would you like if you are submitting? And what would you list if its a hosted gallery? Currently this is what we're using for our hosted + promomovies for our webmasters

Personal preference is mpg instead of wmv. Never had an mpg lock up a computer but I've seen it happen many times trying to play wmv files. I don't think that helps signups.

Aside from that, with so many new video galleries, I hope you're planning to make a lot of video Hosted Free Sites next.

I think if you offer either you are fine. As you said everyone can play wmv now. So either one makes no difference as far as listing a hosted gallery goes.

As far as content for webmasters submitting again I think they'd prefer to use wmv but I doubt it matters all that much. Any serious webmaster using mpeg has good servers I'd assume.

We are working on more hosted freesites as well, it's just MUCH quicker to add regular galleries ;) If you're signed up to our program you'll get a mail as soon as we add more FHS too :)
