Link list? Tgp? Text, or thumb? Scripts? Submissions?
Hey all. I've been doing a lot of reading around and have reached that point where there are so many pros and cons on each side that it becomes impossible to decide what to do. Maybe some of you wise folk could help me out.
I have been on the sponsor end exclusively thus far, providing the free hosted material and occasionally submitting to other sites. But we're looking to branch out a bit, test out some new traffic sources and revenue possibilities. Basically, we're looking to build a site to promote our and other sponsors' content. Out there are link lists, tgps and mgps, some of which are thumb-based and some text-based, fake tgps... there are trade scripts to choose from, and site building scripts as well. The list of variables goes on. Regarding the types of sites, many webmasters swear by what they do, while others insist that there is no money to be made (for new people starting, at least). I know the rule of thumb in this industry is try and see what works, keep what does, and scrap what doesn't. But I would guess that most who have started with link lists stayed with link lists and expanded horizontally. I know everyone promotes everyone and themselves, which makes it hard to know what to do. I know the other rule of thumb in this industry is that if you expect to earn a lot of money, expect to work hard. But with this site as a certainly smaller part of our business (and my responsibilities), I don't want it to take too much of my time. Have any webmasters here had much experience with tgps, link lists, and other types of sites? Does not allowing submissions do more harm than good, or is it the only way to go these days? What about partner accounts? Basically, the factors I want to consider in deciding what type of site to build and what scripts to use include the following: -Quick setup -Little maintenance -Cheap(ish), preferably -Probably not allowing submissions, or if so, having partner accounts (see "little maintenance") What do you think? |huh Thanks |
My "honest" opinion differs greatly from my new "helpful" opinion :D
Honestly, if you don't have the time to put into it, then it's doomed to fail from the start. The helpful opinion is that if I was going to start up a new "traffic" project & I was in your shoes, I'd create a hosted TGP or Link List that used your existing hosted materials where affiliates could link to using their referral code & thus, get credit for any sales generated from the site (the site would have to be ALL IA Cash & nothing else if you wanted people to push it) |

Didn't you forgot the part about bring a lot of traffic and make a lot of money! |
Bringing lots of traffic and making money is most assuredly an implicit goal, but I think I have to be realistic about the amount of time I can put it in, and accept the fact that my limited time will necessarily hamper my numbers. Basically, I'm wondering how I can make the most money and build the most traffic with a small amount of work, between the different options.

Terry it's a good script written by Kaktuson, I have my one install running http://www.thehornybeaver.com and 15 or so other fake tgps/fake link lists. Sparky took a look at it for me last year and told me it was one of the best he's seen |
no time = probably no profit either........ sad but true, there's no easy money in adult anymore!

They have commercials on tv just for you..:)
Seriously, sure asking alot, think we'd all like to work very little and make more, with little or no investment. Good luck. ronnie |
Simon already tried putting small ads in papers all across the country, and in a few short weeks he bought his first home and now he has a mini empire, all thanks to Don Lapre!
The reason Simon was asking is because I have a few domains with some good seed traffic that I'm going to be giving him. Basically some side projects where he can test out various ways of growing traffic from different areas. He's not afraid of working hard he just has to manage his time so he can give the proper focus and attention to all his tasks. |
Kenny if you'd let him out of his cage for more than an hour per day, he might have the time & energy to earn his freedom. There are other ways to build a good staff than through indentured servitude :-)
