Headers and Banners

I am wondering where You all get Your banners and headers for You LL's and such made and how much it costs, I am assuming that not everyone knows how to make those good looking grafic headers and banners.

There's some design companies listed on the GG&J resources page http://www.greenguysboard.com/resources/design.html
:)

I'm guilty of making all mine. Can you tell? ;)

hey there Xallow,

pick up some graphics you want in your banner or header, give me a text and i'll create one banner and one header for you in Photoshop for free.

I make mine myself and it probably shows. I've thought about having a professional designer make some graphics for me, but after a few hours sweating over PS I'm usually able come up with something passable. Cool graphics are nice, but I don't think they necessarily sell a site.

I agree. Graphics that are easy to decipher very quickly work best. That means simple.

I think the real value in graphics is self-esteem for site owners. Those that like having a pretty looking site spend more time working on it when it does look pretty.

But I know webmasters with ugly looking sites that sell just as well... maybe even better, because they spend all their time on more important things. :)

I do stuff myself because I'm not willing to pay someone else to do it. :D

i agree to all the things you wrote here.
For me it'll be just a little bit of help others as other webmasters helped me, too.
I'll not support and Design his site and i think every site should have his own touch from the webmaster, that makes the site more a thing you can call "your baby".

I am not looking for a site designer, I want to do that myself, I just need a nice looking header and a banner, I am looking for graphics but nice cheap/free stuff is hard to find
