Free Site Question?
 

Hello Peeps,

I have been reading alot about free sites latly and i want to know if this is an ok site? I see many linklist want the main index page...or no "doorway" pages like inde1.html and so on....I have made this freesite with that in mind and i would like your opinions on it plz.

I see on som sites people use the image recips..and others just text....so if i have anyones sites with the wrong recip on it please let me know...thx

I try and make all my sites, (gallerys & freesites) neat. So let me know if this is ok.... thx again

and all the pics are 1200+ on the long side?

you mean that the link is just to the sponser and not videos?

What would you suggest it say?

and the pics? is that a bad thing?

bigger is better from what i have heard.....and my stats say more people are on broadband....but plz explain thats why i asked ....trying to learn :)

from what I gather, most people keep the quality down on the free sites. and let them get a membership to the sites you are selling and get the great quality there. Keeps you from using alot of your bandwidth that YOU pay for. It gets really annoying when people steal your bandwidth when hotlinking your pics. my 2 cents.

Yes it looks like an entry point to the site to me.. and that sort of makes it blind..

Simple fix... make the text a notch smaller.. and move it up directly under

"FTV Girls Features New Exclusive Girl Videos & Photos Daily"

That would make you "Enter" link clearly the entry point and you should have no probs then.


Big Pics.. - always a tough one.. but there are arguments in both directions.

big pics(>800 long side) = more bandwidth usage for you = $$
big pics = slower for the surfer - they get pissed - they leave your site - bye bye sales;( = <$$
big pics = satisfied surfer = no sale as he can get them all from your free sites, why should he sign up?


Pics that are 800 long side are perfect IMO, not too big, but still big enuff for the surfer to be happy.

but i still disagree on the pic size, i guess what i would like to know is.....will i still get listed with these pic or no?

the pics may be big in size but they are small in size, i try to keep the width&height....but i shrink the size....i try to get them under 100kb....but if not...then i do my best....:)

so i guess my question is....does the size matter..to the effect that i wont get listed.....

edit: there is only two pics over 100kb and they are 103 and 104 image 1 and 13....the rest are all under 100kb

Site looks great to me. The link on the index page is a little blind, but I don't think it's overly deceptive. Big pics are no problem. I'd list sites like that.

I think the real question is, why bother? You're not required to use photos that large, and you're not necessarily going to make more sales - general consensus seems to be that you might make fewer - with large photos.

Personally I'd rather see a smaller image of higher quality.

i usually keep pics under 40k if possible sometimes more if it's an AVS, also on the main page you should have the grapic of the chick in red linked to sponsor i'm sure LL owners wouldn't have porblem with that.also i keep 20 pic on freesites

Just my opinion on the pic size:

Physical size:
The bigger the better :)

File size:
100kbs is a HUGE file to open on a dial up connection & that's still what most surfers use...
With a picture of 600px (long side) you can easily optimize well below 50kbs and get a good quality picture.
Why waste the b/w & turn away so many surfers?

Now that most wm's are using broadband connections this problem has multiplied beyond belief :(
