Pagerank Explained Correctly with Examples
The Google Pagerank Algorithm and How It Works with examples - http://www.iprcom.com/papers/pagerank

Errr... examples? The author says guesses. Some of those are based on a years old patent. Outside of a few software techs at google and maybe Matt Cutts I am not sure anybody knows exactly how it works. Mainly because google dont count all the links and their method for excluding or allowing them is really... um weird bordering on the insane. I have one blog where google is cheerfully giving me 83 backlinks of which 55 are from within the same blog... all the pundits say google wont count those but it is.

Sorry, I just had to be a smart ass and toss that question out there. Google goes to great efforts to protect their secrets so I have little faith in what they actually say or report. I rely on the serps and use my crystal ball to make adjustments. |badidea| |
Two problems here - first as the author states - he has no fucking idea how it really works - and the fact that he bases anything on toolbar PR shows that he doesnt understand that Google disabled the true display of PR in that over a year ago
Second - backlinks - lets set this problem straight - Googles count of backlinks is not every link they know about - it is a representative sampling and has been for over 2 years - if you really want to get a good idea of how many backlinks the SEs know about - use Yahoo - its a little closer - but never - never base anything on what Google shows you in the toolbar - its intentionally deceptive! |
