Hi,

Me and a couple of friends want to start a pay site. But we need to know 1 thing.

How can we stream a movie on the website, winamp and on windows media player so that it is password protected and that we are sure that the only ones who are watching are the ones who paid for it.

Hello renegade... no, you need to know a lot more than "1 thing." Otherwise you'll have much more fun just putting all of your money into a big pile, setting it on fire, and dancing around it naked.

There have been several threads about the things you need to know and do if you want to start a paysite. I'd suggest you search for them and read them if you really think that all you need to do is protect the content and open the doors. Here is one thread to start you down the right path.

Don't mean to be a buzzkill, but if it was that easy, everyone really would be doing it.

You password protect the area you are playing the movies in. So if you don't know that the members area needs to be password protected then you need to know a lot more like Simon said.

There is also DMR (I think it is called) which protects the movies from playing without a password even on the surfer's own computer.

I believe its DRM ;) Its a bit nasty but it could increase recurrings because people will need to stay member to watch movies even if they already downloaded them.
