Things That Make You Go Hmmmm

In fooling around looking for new sites I hit google search with:

savetheinternet.com

http://www.google.com/search?q=savetheinternet.com

Look at what G suggests as its DO YOU MEAN alternative.

Interesting: save & leave aren't synonyms - not even close.

Another Google conundrum.

what about:

save the internet

leave the internet alone?

somewhat related I would think.

You just have to stretch your brain. google knows all. :)

You must first learn to think like a google before you can search with a google.

It is like a finger pointing to the moon... |loony|

At least an old fun one has reappeared in Google finally:

I hadn't actually looked at the results, but made a guess.

However, in looking at the results, both deal with the current disagreement over 'net neutrality'. This is where you pay the phone company or cable company for a connection to the internet, and the phone/cable company doesn't believe this is enough, so, asks for a payment from places like google, yahoo and ebay. Companies that don't pay this additional fee are not sent across 'priority' network channels. This fosters neutrality.

So, perhaps google has indeed looked 1 degree beyond the actual text, and is instead looking at the inference of the phrases.

That's what got me |potleaf| , I was like:

"What are you trying to say?|loony| "

BTW that Net Neutral thing is one thing that everyone should be outraged about and send emails to any politician about.

IMHO What the telcos/cable arw trying to do is set the model and mechanism for censorship under the guise of a business plan. It should be resisted at all levels.

Thanks for that link Linkster. I'm English, so that one is a lot more fun over here (we spent centuries at war with the French, some think we still are). Somewhere I even own a small piece of wood from the ship "The Victory" (Nelson's flagship, responsible for France's biggest and most embarrassing defeat, unless you include sticking up their hands in surrender at the first sign of Germans).

And the moral of the story is:

Don't focus on the finger or you'll miss all the heavenly glory.
