New To LInk Lists

After running an AVS site for years, my gallery posts have dried up completely a couple weeks ago.
I want to learn everything I can about link lists and how they work.
Where should I start?

Thanks in advance
edde (the dumb LL newbie ;))

I would read the "link lists and getting listed" forum and this is a good thread http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=34027

Really GG&J is the place to be if You want to do the LL thing I think, just start reading the boards top to bottom and pretty soon You will know everything You need I think.

Good luck

LL's take ALOT of time. Think about it long and hard.

The board has many good threads that discuss a great deal about the LL/freesite game.

I'd suggest you start by making your first freesite. Come back here and get a critique. Build more freesites. Get a critique for those. Repeat as necessary.

When you're ready, build freesites and submit them to various link lists. Do this as much as you can. IMO, only after you can make money from freesites should you even consider building a LL. The experience will teach you a lot.

You're better off knowing what you're doing, and why, right from the start than redoing all your work because you weren't aware of something... or worse... |shocking|

Couldnt agree more....asking for critique and advice (also after your first freesite) is what you should do to speed up your learning curve. It sure wouldve saved me a lot of time (and money) |banghead|

Thanks again guys! You are the best.
Is a "freesite" the same thing as a movie gallery? (see newb to alot of these terms)

Xallow 2006-10-03 06:31 AM

a freesite is NOT just a gallery

A freesite consists of at least 4 pages: index(warning page and recip table... be sure to place recips above your enter button), main page and 2 gallery pages(movie or picture) You can have more gallery pages but you dont need them.

Actually, some places don't want to see sites with too much content. But 2 pages satisfies most everyone. |thumb

There are a couple of nice lists, if I am not mistaked, that want more pics than alot of others have as a maximum.

Make sure you read the rules on all sites you want to submit to. Most are standard but there are those that differ slightly.

Persian Kitty requires 30 pictures if I remember well...

BTW does PK still accept submissions?
