CNN Will Be Doing A Whole Week of Anti-porn this week...

5 episodes next week (7PST) on the Glen Beck show...I couldn't stay on that idiots site long enough to find a link. If someone can find it...post it.

This is the same moron who called the Katrina victims "scumbags"...should be interesting.

Linkster 2006-10-14 10:14 AM

Fortunately they only let him on the headline news station of CNN - it wont be on the regular CNN unless he does something really off the wall and then they may show a sound byte.
Some of the stuff he does is way off the wall - on purpose - and he does have that mormon christian fundie approach to a lot of stuff
But after seeing him take apart that Becky woman that had the 7 year old kids training with wooden swords to go to war against Muslims - I also can see that he can see extremism no matter where it breeds.
That said - he does take a very fundamentalist approach to the family value type stuff so I would imagine these are (while he usually does it in a humourous way) going to be running the range from crying about the amount of money Americans pay for sin to how illegal immigration is causing the sex industry to explode |jester|

BTW - I went to both his site and headline news' site and neither has a schedule posted that I could find on the topics - as a matter of fact I could even find a reference to these programs anywhere

Simon 2006-10-14 11:01 AM

I couldn't find anything anywhere either. But it's on Comcast Cable's digital schedule for next week.

Monday's description says: "The first of a four-part look at pornography's impact on American culture begins with an examination of online porn sites."

Tuesday's through Thursday's descriptions just say they're the second, the third, and the conclusion of "a four-part look at pornography's impact on American culture."

I told my dvr to grab them next week so I can take a look.

I noticed this blurb on his CNN page:

Quote:

Video Podcast: 'Ask Glenn'
You can ask Glenn anything about anything and the chances are he'll either know the answer or lie SO convincingly that you won't ever know the difference.
I do wonder what online porn sites he'll look at on Monday.

Me too... |shocking|

I'll have to ask a friend to record it for me. Unless they'll play it on the web? |huh

Simon 2006-10-15 08:53 AM

Marc - he's on at 7pm on Headline News, then replays at 9pm and midnight (Eastern time), per his page on CNN.

Hahahah! So true.

i think this will be good...i doubt the repubs have enough time in power to seriously hurt the industry.

So all this will really do is tell 100,000 people that there is really high quality porn sites online...here's to the winners of that lottery ;)

Xallow 2006-10-16 05:20 PM

Any chance that some good folks here could record it for us none american webmasters and put it up so we can download it somewhere?

Linkster 2006-10-16 08:01 PM

Well - that wasnt anything different than what all the anti-porn addiction people party line say - I really expected more out of him - and it only lasted 5 minutes out of the whole show with one guest who was obviously making a living off of treating a "new addiction" or whiney escapist excuses.
Supposedly tomorrow night will be the porn business part (again evidently just for 5 mins)

Caught a little bit as I was walking by the TV. So checking porn twice a week after the wife goes to bed is an addiction.

Maybe he should have the wife check it out with him. Better yet, grab the video camera, and make their own porn.|couch|

On the other hand, I'm getting to like watching Family Business featuring Seymore Butts.
http://eros-guide.com/articles/2003-03-11/butts/

Simon 2006-10-17 11:46 AM

It wasn't much of segment, certainly nothing new and the folks they interviewed have a vested interest in saying what they said. Plus they didn't look at even one identifiable porn website.

I noticed that they said 10% of the population are "porn addicts" ... that's 30 million people now.

Tonight is "The Business of Porn" followed by "The Future of Porn" tomorrow and "The Danger of Porn" on Thursday.

I have to say, every time someone outlines the behavior of porn addicts I just want to yell at them, "You idiots! Buy some good paysite memberships and you won't have to spend hours every day surfing for free porn to try to get off!"

Seems like quite a necessarily unfair and provactive comment.|huh

Yeah this was disappointing and showed me how obvious it was that he is just using the hot button words to attract an audience and has nothing to add to the debate. IMHO so hypocritically typical of his ilk. I had never watched him before and I won't again because I just can't take people screaming at me when I can't backhand them to shut the fuck up.

lelahosting 2006-10-18 03:31 PM

i dont normally watch cable news but sounds like this segment was a joke

maybe i should watch it tonight but i doubt i will

Papa 2006-10-20 07:34 AM

We were Virtual night....
more than an hour of interview (Not with Beck by the way,) and only a few minutes air.
But hey, I'll take it. All publicity is good publicity.

elmy 2006-10-26 09:57 AM

Yea, really. Everything is an addiction except the the things THEY want.

procreation of the species has somehow become an addiction. Why not? Food is already, which we need for survival. I can't wait for the upcoming report: "America's new addiction:Air."
People are just breathing too damn much!

Dotcommer 2006-10-27 05:07 AM

Should be very intersting.

heywood 2006-10-28 07:04 AM

Just wonderful. More heat for us I guess.

What amazes me is, the billions of dollars the industry makes, yet nobody buys it. |huh
