Gore Porn: is there a legal issue for this type of site?
 

My friends wants to put up a gore porn site. He recently read/hear about credit card companies disallowing those type of web sites to process membership thru. Has anyone heard about this? Any infomation would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. If I recall correctly a DVD line pulled their gore movies off the shelves when threatened with obscenity charges.

I think going this route would be fighting an uphill battle, but good luck to you if you do. |thumb

This sort of thing is protected free speech in my opinion (or at least there could be an argument made in favor of it) but few credit card processors are willing to take that gamble. This kind of results in there being a de facto censorship of it.

If we're on the same wave-length, it's porn mixed with horror. The title/line I was specifically thinking of was a take-off of Re-Animator where a mad-scientist type re-animates a hooker or something into a Zombie. There was a lot of gore/blood and it was an internet phenom for like the 2 weeks they left the trailers online. Then it was pulled...

i thought well i was hoping you were talking about the gore sisters
you know al gore's daughters. but i think the gory bloody stuff would be cool too. it's just special effects right no snuff porn or anything?
that would be gross but a takeoff on horror movies would be great!
