Making galleries?

Is there a automated way of making galleries. I like working but it seems like there should be a better of doing this. I make my gallery pages by hand. Pick, and resize the pics, name the files. Then copy them rename and resize the copies to make the thumbs. I am getting faster but by the time I do all that and the SEO for the page its like 2 hrs. Seems like all I get done in a 6 to 8 hr day is making, and marketing one page. When I am making a lot of pages for one site, it seems like there should be a better way? Ive seen Gallery Templates, and I do have my own but its still very time consuming.

Quality + Originality = Time

This is my take anyways. Quality over quantity equals more sales. |bananna|

I agree. I went from real cookie cutter galleries, to more creative galleries. They have gotten better as I learned more, and I myself like them better. I want to move away from the sponsered content. I am tring to get my sale up first.

I was just talking about putting the gallery actually together. I guess your right though if you build them right, you dont have to build 100 pages. I build a lot of pages for the search engines personally. I have noticed now that my site is almost up to 50 pages the SE are really starting to list me more. Thats something else I am testing out, and playing with. I do also have the 3 page free site. Its still new, and real cookie cutter but I wanted to see the difference.

Pick you photos for the gallery and put them in a file- 5 minutes
Use a program to resize the big pics like Arles - 20 seconds
Make your thumbs (using Alres - 10 seconds...using photoshop - 15 minutes)
Make the gallery page - 5 minutes. (use a template you have already and change the background colors, the meta tags, the alt tags, and the some of the body text)

Really shouldn't take you longer than 30 minutes to make a gallery. And if you use a thumb maker to make the thumbs rather than photoshop then it is 10-15 minutes max to make a gallery.

What is taking you 2 hours?

Here is a gallery I made. Then another gallery I made in under 30 minutes I'm sure and I use photoshop to make my thumbs.

I know you don't want cookie cutter but different background colors can really make a difference. The 2 I showed are not that different but they are different. If you submit back to back days you'll want more of a difference.

Mixing the text up between the thumbs can help make it look different too. Then you can do other things too like I did with this gallery:

I use fireworks which really its a pain in the ass, but its what I got. The book on it is huge.
I have to take the sponsor gallery usually like 100 or more pics. Pick some good ones. Rename the files. 10 min resize and export 15 min.(images only) copy them rename and resize for thumbs 15 min.
Put them in the image folder and into the templet 20 mins using dreamweaver. I have to select the file do the long desc. then go through and do keywords, page desciption, and alt's 30 min. so about 90 mins. Thats why I am here asking. Dont get me wrong I love building, but I know there has got to be a better way. A way I could spend my time more wisley. I am actually working from 6 am to about 5:30 pm 6 days a week. By the time I build a page. Read a little, cause I am a noob. Try to do a few link trades, and I usually do about 60 link dumps a day. I am beat and I really feel I could have done more. I even eat lunch and read.

A simple & very helpful tool for creating thumbs fast is Easy Thumbnails. It's free & very easy to use, and although it's called Easy Thumbnails you can use it to adjust pics to all sorts of sizes, reduce file size etc etc. Very handy tool that I use a lot.

I know that some folks here prefer making thumbnails individually, but sometimes a good tool helps a lot.
:)

I use TGP Gallery Maker, http://tgpgallerysubmitter.com/. It will make the thumbs for you. I didn't really care for their templates so made some changes and just pasted them in after I've made a gallery.

If I do need to make a bunch of thumbs, I use Image Resizer Pro, http://www.download.com/Image-Resize...ml?tag=lst-0-1. You can buy it if you want but the free version lets you resize five at a time.

Ramster,
I really like your galleries. You gave me some great ideas. I like the use of text, and the different looks. I often struggled with how to make the galleries look good. I know the use of text is very important. Sometimes its hard for me to get it to all mesh right.I am really tring to work on my creative side. I didnt have a creative bone in my body when I started. It comming alone slowly, with a lot of hard work, and good advise from this board. I feel a nice professional look is what makes sales. Good content of course, but the professional look is where the surfer gains the trust to take out the credit card.
