Some light from you LL´s gurus... and owners.
 

Hi I’m new to the post and to the business too. I was in this business from 97 to 2000 now I’m back... or trying to, and I’d appreciate some help.

It’s a kind of stupid question but I don’t know anybody else to ask...;-))

I made a site and submitted it to some LLs, some good LLs, GG´s included, there was few mistakes but we worked on that and the site got listed. My recips table has 20 LLs and the site was fine for them all, you know, it’s the "playing by the rules" kind of site, reviewers can accept it or not but it’s a honest site.

When you make galleries you must learn to make mirror pages otherwise you can’t post to more then 3 or 4 TGPs so I did the same for my site, made a sub-directory and put in there the same site, no changes but the recips table at the index page with another 20 LLs links.

The very first (and the only) of these new 20 LLs I submitted to was "Uncle Thumper's" and I got mail from them, it says "REJECTED: BLACKLISTED". I stopped submitting, I’m afraid. I’m a 100% honest webmaster and don’t wanna be blacklisted. So here go my questions.

You, Links Lists owners do not accept this mirror pages thing? If not is there another way to do it?

You, submitters make it another "better" way?

Is the number of recips I’m putting together (20) ok? I think it may be too much.

Any tips or suggestions about the site or the business will be appreciated.

Welcome to GG&Jim, Fehnelon. I remember that I had rejected that site at both my link lists (can't remember why so please don't ask!) but then I guess you fixed it because I listed it. Majick runs Uncle Thumper's and he posts here so I'm sure he'll see this thread and reply soon.

I declined that one because you have 2 enters on index. The word "Enter" should be strictly reserved to move from your index to your main page. I don't care about how you mirror your pages.

If you had been a regular submitter I probably would have approved it with the following comments:

1. Obviously, the "enter" issue.
2. Either use all original or all custom recips, don't mix them up.
3. Pictures are out of order on gallery 2.

Other then that your site actually looks pretty good.

Hey Fehnelon....It looks like you got that specific message because of a couple of suspect things:
Brazil registar (there has been a ton of crap submits recently with bogus whois info from montevideo, uraguay, etc.) which leads to the second reason..
your whois info comes up completely blank using several different sources. No way to tell you from the multisubmitting cheaters.

Try to not resize premade recips - its another reason to get declined.

20 standard recips is a bit much for a lot of list owners, even though it's clean the way you did it. I used to do 20 custom text recips, but 16 seems like a more LL friendly number, all around. With standard recips, 9-12 is probably a good number.

For mirrors, as a LL owner I can almost expect you to give me a mirror - and the way you did it is just fine.

Other then that, I agree with previous statements.

I don't automatically reject for 20 recips but they've got to be text only and neatly positioned. 20 standard recips is too cluttered IMHO.

1. Didn't think the "enter" word would be a problem since the 2 "enters" are links to the same url, the index page, but I got your point and will not take that chance again, from now on only one "Enter" .

2. Once again a newbie’s mistake because some of the original recips had a color problem with my site - info saved it will not happen again. Don't you think I'll have problems if I use them all custom?

3. Ops... My mistake. I chose them 1 by 1 and sorted the way i thought would be right, because the full set has more then 100 pics named with numbers and definitely out of order.

Man, don't know what to say to you... I got a good host (colo-cation which a lot of people here say is good), I bought my own domain... If there is something I can do to fix this whois info problem I'll gladly do it, for now I only have my word, but Majick trust me, I’m not a cheater, as a matter of fact I’m too dumb for that (or not that dumb to do it). So I’m not really blacklisted, am I? I mean that kind of list that is shared…

I’d like to submit to your sites but I’ll never do it again if you say so, just please don’t blacklist me, no reason for that, ok?

Follow the great advice from the people here and i'll gladly list your sites |thumb ....and i''m sure you'll have no problems getting listed everywhere else you submit as well.

About the recips subject I’ll reduce the number as Virgohippy says (thanks man), since now I’m sure there’s no problem with mirrors i can’t see why keep a high number of recips at the same page.

Yes, this is most definitely the place to be in the free site/link list game :)

I see what Majick means about your whois info...looks like perhaps your registar is down or something. I do the same kind of spot checks and your whois would have sent up red flags for me too.

However, your site looks pretty good and will be much more likely to be accepted once you've incorporated the comments from the other helpful folks here at GG&J :)

I took a look at DomainTools and think I can see what the point is. My mistake was to buy my domain from a Brazilian company because the registrar shows the info of that company. |huh

The hell is that I never saw this company before and I reached it from the INTERNIC site when I was trying to buy a domain. Shit, I even paid with CC what means I could have bought it from any place in the world. |badidea|

Am I wrong or South-America is a kind of suspect (to not use the word Blacklisted) continent?
