Ipod help
What is the difference between 5th generation and 5.5 generation? I would assume that 5.5 is better than 5 but, look at this from amazon. And no, I don't like u2 and I know it's a bad deal to buy a u2 ipod just because it says u2 on it.

That didn't have 5.5
Something just seems strange. |
I'm guessing that "Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006)" would be the 5.5 version and "Fifth Generation iPod (iPod with video) 30 GB, 60 GB" would be the 5.0 version.

Isn't it obvious that the 5.5 is 10% better than the 5.0?
|
I just don't get why a newer version is cheaper than older. It's not just the crappy u2 version either. It's any ipod...makes no sense.

I think the 5.5 includes the virus and the 5.0 doesn't.
think of it as a bonus. :) Actually, there were some revisions to the hardware specs, I read that somewhere when I ordered the shuffle for my wife, but, it was one of the mac enthusiast sites that went over some of the changes. I believe the 5.5 had longer battery life and a brighter screen. 5.5 has gapless playback (which the shuffle has) and a 5.0 model can be updated to 5.5 with firmware. I found some vague mentions at fatwallet and macrumors about the differences and the above is a summation. |
Thanks Sparky
So, maybe amazon is just screwed up a bit. |
I'll sell you a very used generation 3 for the price of a new one.
Or a pretty beat up nano first generation in black for a nice shinny new one in pink. Damn these things are like chips, tattoos, and rabbits. |
