What to do with exit links and can someone suggest a good niche/sponsor?

I like to put exit link on index, I am just putting link to yahoo on there, is there any point is sending the link somewhere else? And am I stupid for putting an exit link on there? I thought I had read it on some LL that they liked an exit link so I went with the flow and am putting them on there now, but I DO remember in the long times past that it was seen to be just a traffic leak? Opinions???

Also looking for a "something different" fetish/sponsor, was thinking CHUBBY, is that still popular like it once was? Other wone I was gonna try is spanking one, any advice? Thanks )

An exit link to Yahoo is a waste - its just a leak. You could try Prank Place - http://www.prankplace.com/affiliates.htm - or my own favourite - Warning Pages - http://www.warningpages.com/index.php

Why is it my favourite? Well they sent me a nice cheque when I was least expecting it. I like that in a sponsor!

I partially agree with japamor. If it's not profitable why link to it. What I don't like about the "exit" link is it does not follow the theme of the rest of the site or page.

I consider an exit link a traffic leak. I don't use them and it hasn't prevented me from getting listed yet.

I sometimes use one to google, sometimes to another God, sometimes to whatever cause I like, currently it's a save the rain forest thing, sometimes I send them to a church just for the fuck of it :)

If it's a leak it's a very small one, but the only ones who click ain't buying anyways, so it doesn't concern me much.

I like the first part of your post and found it funny as hell... then I read the last part and spit out my vodka and gatorade... how could you possibly know that somebody clicking an exit link won't buy anything? chances are they hit your site for a reason and you have no idea what they are gonna click on, especially a newb with a brand spankin new computer lookin to spank it or frig it... i prefer to know that the only way I can't sell 'em something or possibly trade 'em off to someone who might is by them clicking the big X at the top of their browsers or hitting the back button...

as far as a good niche do your own expirementing with your traffic, what works for somebody else might just lead you down a road of alot of work and little return... if you don't have alot of your own traffic try what turns you on as you will know how to market it better than niches that do not

Should have clarified a bit, I don't make free sites and my index pages are usually pretty graphic so the surfer has a good look right away. I would never put an exit link on a page that was just text, logos and banners like most free site indexes.

I am really new to this stuff, so I am mostly speaking from my experience as a surfer. As a surfer, I never felt the need to pay for my porn, but I did purchase many other things on the internet. If I found my way to one of your sites you were highly unlikely to make any money off me from an adult paysite. Now if I ended up at a place like PrankPlace or TShirtHell, I very well might end up buying something.

Now I rarely clicked on an exit link, but I often checked out what they were linked to, out of curiosity. There were a few times that I did click on them if it sounded interesting.

I am sure there are more than a few surfers like me. Of course, I may be just a weirdo. Ok, no 'may' about it.

You probably already know this, but I'm going to warn those who don't - do a search on Google for videoscash.com It's scumware and most likely a trojan downloader.

Not to mention that an adult exit link kinda defeats the purpose of an exit in the first place |loony|

How does a place like warning pages dot com monetize that traffic they buy - i always wondered?

Well I believe Warning pages is dead nowadays...after all this post is almost a year and half old....try not to bump old threads...

but to answer your question, they paid a penny per click and were linked to mainstream sites mostly music (from what I saw) that paid them a higher PPC Im sure.
