When is Cold COLD

It's been below zero all day and you deal with it.
-6 was the HIGH temp for the day, looking at -25F tonight and about -50 wind chill.. no biggy, just dress accordlingly.. :)

At what temp do You call Cold???

For Me it's about -5. Anything after that, it really doesn't matter much. -5 -25 I can't dress much warmer.
However a warm up is expected by the weekend. From -25 or so to Plus 20F. That's the same change as changing from 40F to 85F :)

Well, -51 Celcius in Siberia was cold. We had to had masks when we went out because without mask your face will froze and fast.

I think it's some -13 F

You know that it's cold when you piss and it turns to ice before it hit the ground.

Hiya Fang -
Crookston to Fertile (yeah I've heard the stories about that town) south on 32 to Twin Valley :)
If you're in the area.

DD - |cheers|
Actually it does get that warm here in the summer....
Oh wait, Summer is nearly OVER for you.. LOL

finnbear - In Minnesota we use what's called a Wind Chill Factor. A scale that includes the temp AND the wind speed.
As of 8:30PM (my local time)
Temperature 9 °F / -13 °C
Windchill -7 °F / -22 °C
It's the Wind with the Cold that freezes stuff, faces included Very Fast.
Coldest wind chill I remember was -70 something, it was Cold.. LOL

AdultLegal-Jim
Cannonballs - Never too cold to drink those :)
1 shot of Cinamon Schnaaps and 3 drops of Tabasco sauce. Sounds weird but it tastes like Hot Tamale candy.
(and it beats carrying a 12 pack on a snowmobile :) )

That is cold. I spent 3.5 years "way up nort dare" in Minneapolis and the last winter I stayed there the temperature was -48 C in my back yard. I felt it was time to move after that.

Osiris 2004-01-07 03:52 PM

I don't know, it rarely ever gets cold here.. |sad|

Huh huh! I'm sure glad it never will go to -48 C in my backyard. We have seen some -25 C and that's much more than enough.

I was only once in Siberia and only 2 days. I don't think I will ever go back.

HHRRUMP.. this is NOT a good thread for me.. having just survived the Blizzard of Ought 4 here in Seattle..where i was told for months after moving here.. OH it NEVER snows in seattle.. so i want to know WTF this 9" white stuff, encrusted with a 2" layer of Ice???

This has been going on since New Year's Eve, and i never once lost my Cable.. until today.. the storm is over as of this morning at 5am.. we've had zero power since 2am last night.. just came on at 230pm today.. i was getting a tad chilly..Tho it warmed up from single digits to 43 degrees, when after having power, booting up my computer, get on my lightening fast connection on the net.. BAM.. after 30 minutes.. GONE!! WTF.. i called comcast and asked *after punching #1's and 2 about 12 times*.. Don't you people have Fiber Optic underground cable???? not everywhere.. *rolling eyes*... so now after enduring 13 hrs of no power i've had to sit thru another 6 with no net..

..someone please get me an IV i'm having Porn withdrawal.

tho i have to say i was very productive in that 6 hours.. build 4 gallerys and a free site. i think i need to turn off my messengers more often!!

"32F Freezing or above - Post reply"

If I need to wear pants and long sleeve's, it's too cold

Greenguy 2004-01-10 11:25 PM

We got a call down in Vewgas that some pipes blew in the garage because of the temp. It was -4 or something silly like that.

I still have a few pipes here that are frozen - just waiting for them to pop or thaw :)

Surfn 2004-01-11 06:02 AM

It starts getting cold when the smoke freezes coming from the chimney and rolls down the roof. ;)
