Sponsor usage for LL

Prolly been asked before so forgive me. Is it better to limit the amount of sponsor links I use on my LL or is it better to offer a wide variety in all the niche categories? Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated :D

I've tried both - or I should say, I was trying the "wide variety" theory & right now, I'm trying what I'd call the "top performers only" option, where I'm pulling a shitload of poor performing sites so that I can get the listings at a manageable amount while still pushing sites that have consistently performed.

The one problem I am currently having is with less popular niches, where there's only a handful of sites to promote anyway - I sorta have to leave the duds on the pages :(

I've tried both as well.

TDW lists a bunch on the paysite pages and prior to the new template I listed 10 on a page above the free-site listings.

Depraved Pornsites only lists 2 sponsor sites on a category page and those links rotate, but I doubt any of my categories have more than 10 actual sites that it can rotate between and some have only 3.

As far as results...I have no idea. I don't really see any big difference. |huh

I think it really depends on your traffic type and what sponsors you choose to use, not to mention how you list them on your site or pages. I think it'll be different with each person.

I used to have mine mixed in with the free sites but decided to separate them allowing a complete categorized solution, giving the surfers a clear option. The method I used before didn't do too well....but again I limited the selection. **by the way, I am referring to 69toplinks.com forgot I changed my sig banner...hehe. But anyways, it will be interesting to see how this new method works.

Thanks for the feedback guys |thumb

I think I will combine Greenies "top performers only" model while instituting Preacher's "rotation" method for new and low performing sites to see if anything "hits". Over all I think maybe I just have too much clutter.

It also depends on your traffic amount, if you spread the hits out too much or to thin between many sponsors, less chance of making a sale with any.
