A Very Happy Friday Morning

Good Morning
Damn cold this morning. A warm 10 degrees right now...brrrrrrr. We only received about 3 inches of snow so I don't have to break out the snow blower yet.

I think today is the first day I really don' have to do any extra running around. Just a quick trip to the post office, bank and a run out for new Christmas Tree lights and I am done :)

Ramster 2006-12-08 08:25 AM

Good Morning. It is cold as hell this morning.

Fonz 2006-12-08 08:26 AM

Morning all,

The office week is about to end. No soccer tomorrow so I actually might get some work doen over the weekend.

Getting myself a headset today so in an hour or 2 anyone who wants can chatter with me on skype, MSN or Google talk, isn't that good news? :)

Have a great day all!

Simon 2006-12-08 09:05 AM

Good morning world |waves|

It was a chilly 64 degrees and breezy here this morning.
With the wind chill I bet we were down to 63 at times.

Fonz ... danger, down that road waits video chatting, and having to dress up on weekends to answer your phone.

An excellent Friday to all.

:)

ponygirl 2006-12-08 09:30 AM

good morning everyone |waves|

well, WE'RE SNOWED IN!! |bananna| |bananna|

this is the most snow I've ever seen come down in one night - we've got at least 3 feet in our backyard right now. Schools, buses, offices, everything is closed. I'm going to dress up the kids, toss them out the door & see if they can find their way back :D

makes me feel like a kid again, I tell ya :)

have a great day!
:)

Toby 2006-12-08 09:33 AM

Mornin' y'all,

No snow here yet. ;)

|coffee is on, help yourself

Cleo 2006-12-08 09:37 AM

Wow it's almost cold here this morning.

Woken up by a phone call from one of my other businesses this morning and now I've not really a clue why they called so I guess I should call them back after I've finished waking up.

Finally watched Brokeback Mountain last night. I really dislike cowboy movies even though it took place in modern times, actually expected the movie to be set to be in the 1800s before watching it, so I had to force myself to watch it. Thought it was a very touching, somewhat disturbing movie, very good movie.

Doing the gym thing and then just a day or work planned but since I'm a single woman and it's Friday night will probably try to find some kind of trouble to get into after watch Battlestar Galactica this evening.

Good Friday Peoples |buddy|

No new snow here, but we are having a heat wave - it was 18° when I woke up 40 minutes ago & now it's 21° |thumb

I'm outta here in about 45 min to go & sign the papers to refinance my mortgages & home improvement loans, which is going to save me $500 a month for the next 12 years |bananna|

emmanuelle 2006-12-08 09:54 AM

Good morning!
Still groggy after a late night, and seem to have woken up in the ice age. It's too frigging cold to snow.
PonyGirl- you're making me terribly homesick

back to giggling over Chop's newsletter |jester|

Edit: It's colder here than it is in the Yukon!

Morning..

I can't figure out why it is so farking COLD in the morning like below freezing and by 2pm it's 70 degrees.. I'd be happy to just have that averaged out to a mild 45-50 and be Beary happy.

Off to see how many more booths they bust this weekend. should be interesting.

have a |roses| $tress Free day!!

That made me laugh. We too are feeling the bite in NJ. Not so much the temp, but the wind is kicking our asses. Window awnings almost blew off the house this morning, went outside to untie them and set them up. God dam that wind hit me right to the bone. Woke my ass up fast.

terry 2006-12-08 10:50 AM

Because sand retains heat very poorly. And you thought those adobe huts were made out of mud because it was available. The side benefit is, they provide shade during the day, and collect heat. At night, when the temperature drops, the walls radiate heat, keeping the hut warmer than the outside -- saving the solar energy during the day, releasing it at night.

I think I have a new best friend at the FBI, he calls me all the time, wants to set up a lunch early next week. He did seem surprised that I knew he was from Cleveland until I mentioned to him that his vcard in his signature said Cleveland. :) He only moved to Miami in August.

Other than that, a fun filled day with getting caught up on a ton of stuff. The last three weeks have been a whirlwind.

Offer letter fedexed to the new prospective hire and I should get a positive response on that today which will hopefully free up part of my schedule to catch up on some other things.

This almost explains the huts made out of dried cow shit.

I remember growing up in Pierrefonds and it seemed like there was always snow up to my neck. It was a blast - of course back then you could leave the house & be gone all day without anyone worried you were buried in the snowplow drifts (even if you were lol). Times have changed, that's for sure.

SheepGuy 2006-12-08 01:08 PM

Hey Ponygirl I'm just down the road from you and we didn't get any snow ;)
I remember one year back in New Brunswick we had 5 feet dumped on us in less than 24 hours, completely buried my car and my girlfriend at the time wasn't allowed out since she was only 4' 10" :D .
Worst part was that we were snowed in for three days and didn't have enough cigarettes, all this while the gf is PMSing|angry|

dareutwo 2006-12-08 01:54 PM

Afternoon all -
Just home on a lunch break. Dropped the kids off at school this morning and ended up working a book fair in the library.
Have a great day - I gotta get back to the school.

swedguy 2006-12-08 03:12 PM

Morning folks.

I'm back home again. But I rather continue staying in the Thailand heat instead of freezing my ass off in Sweden!
