What kind and how much meta info is optimum
 

I kinda asked this in another thread because it was on topic with what was said but figured this was the most correct place to ask. I use meta keywords, seperated by commas, and they usually are more phrases than actual keywords. Should I just use words instead of phrases? Is there a way to put phrases in a meta location? How many keywords are acceptable? I've seen some sites witn no meta keywords and some with mini dictionaries. How about an example of what is the most effective use of keywords.

I've got it, how about a meta turorial without all the technical mumbo jumbo. Just the meat without the gravy.:)

IMHO, Keywords have become kind of ambiguous in the last few years due to keyword stuffing trying to fool the Se's. Still you should have them in a very moderate amount. Thoughts will differ but a handful to no more than 20 or so should be plenty. Keyword phrases seem to be the migration and you probably have a better chance at capturing good listings with a phrase rather than a word (Think how many pages use the keyword "porn", etc.). It seems to be more important that your text and alt tags match and compliment your keywords and it is these other page elements that are more important overall than keywords today. Your Title is crucial and so is copying a good title into the Desc metatag too. A quick G search will turn up millions of pages of advice though!
