Trading traffic

Hello All! Been reading posts for a while and decided to finally go ahead and register so I can post. The question I have is every-one is always requesting trades for their TGP, and I wanted to know why? It seems that traffic is so hard to get now a days and I don’t know why everyone wants to trade his or her traffic to another site. I tried starting a TGP and got some trades from the Find trades database and it seemed as if I was always getting burned, sending more traffic than getting back, low productivity, etc. So I threw in the towel on the idea, now I am ready to try it out again. Just wondering how you big guys handle trades, maybe I was not successful b/c I was skimming (70%) not sure. I am interested in trying another tgp and was wondering if anyone could offer advise on how to get it boosted, and what are your thoughts on having a TGP and not trading traffic at all, just buying traffic and by keeping it clean get bookmarkers?
