Critique Please...

Alright,
somebody suggested I have this looked at!
They are correct. I haven't built a free site in years.
Clearly the marketing has changed, etc.
I am reading like crazy, but need some help.

I'd list it, but I don't think you're going to do too well with SE's when you have no text ;)

Good Point

Yep, I'll get to work on the SE stuff.
Thanks!

From what I have read on Free Sites I would say you will have a problem getting listed because the pictures are out of order... They go from dressed to partly, to naked and back to partly. Try making them more sequenced?

good point!

Thanks, and easy to fix.....

Put your recips in a table and take advantage of the number of outgoing links you are allowed (3 per page generally). Also...why do you have it on the root of barhotty.com. Is this the only freesite you are going to do or are you just trying to do someting with one of many extra domains? Most freesite submitters do them on a daily to weekly basis. I've toyed around with putting some on my extra domains since they are sitting there doing nothing...

coop 2006-12-25 07:14 PM

Yep, about domains?

I have a dedicated server, domains are like $6.50 a year....
Is it stupid to get a domain for a free site?
I have a lot more expertise with operating systems, php, mysql
then building free sites.

Years ago domain names added search engine relevancy.
When domains were $75, I owned about 20. That was a major
f**cking expense. Gave it all up in the middle of a government scare.
Wow 2257? Another one.... Guess it never ends.

Any comments?

I think because they used to cost so much I have too many now when they are cheap ;-) I and most people will put freesites in a directory...I'm no expert. You may get a little extra SE bump from being on the root but if you are going to make 365 of these a year not only will your registrations get expensive but also hard to keep track of. We are all waiting on the other show to drop on 2257...

definitely add some more text and use all 3 allowed outgoing links. on your third gallery the banner isn't even clickable.

You definitely need some sales pitch text.

Too much pictures... 24 is enough.

More outgoing links to sponsors. You might think reviewers will approve your submission because you have less advertising. That might not be the case - they could even write your domain down in their little black books to keep an eye on you because you might decide to add some blind links after submission...

Use text combined with banners like this:

TEXT
BANNER
TEXT

I would not go this route. Just create sub folders for each freesite. Use your root for a hub and then you can always change that later on.
