Anti-Spam Recommendation
I upgraded my Norton anti-virus yesterday to the new 2007 version (BIG mistake!). Anyway, the new upgrade did not have the Norton Anti-Spam for my e-mail client (Outlook) that it had in the past that I loved. So now I have no spam filter on my e-mail and thus can't open the thing because I'm getting hit hard with spam. I tried using a program called SpamFighter but it just caused Outlook to crash. Having serious computer issues right now so any help with the spam thing would be greatly appreciated!
Oh ya, also downloaded the new IE7 hoping it would solve my runtime error that causes all my browser windows to close at once but no such luck. Gotta love Windows! |thumb |
I don't have an answer onhand (since I don't use outlook for my public email), but I can point you in a direction to look for some really educated opinions: http://search.securityfocus.com/swse...utlook&x=6&y=5

I use webmail interface only with spam filters. It's best way for me. That i advice for you too.

Wipeout Spam
This program works wonders for me. Basically got rid of atleast 95% of my spam. If not more.
http://cloudmark.com/desktop/ Best of luck. I do recommend you clear off any traces of Norton on your machine. Antivir or AVG are both free and work just fine. Antivir is supposedly the fastest and least resource intensive of all the Antivirus programs out there. However, I do believe that McAfee Enterprise 8i is the best out there. I just started using POPFile for Outlook. Once setup, it learns
which emails are spam or not. Also, you can classify emails and have them sent to certain folders. Easy to setup and free.... http://popfile.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl Hope that helps. |
