That one gets past me.

I know there had to be some motherfucker making text TGPs by hand. Come one. Who was the first?

oldbrad 2007-01-01 05:16 PM

hasn't the hun been on since 95

Linkster 2007-01-01 08:46 PM

From what I remember the hun wasnt really a tgp back then - he was linking to anything :)

tickler 2007-01-02 01:14 AM

I seem to remember SexyBookmarks, and RR back around '95!
It might have a been year or so later though.

Heres what Sexybookmarks looked like in Mar 29 1997.

Doesnt look much like a TGP list as so much a link list to me.

RR is usually richards realm. Dont know if it was a tgp, it's looked similar to now for as long as i can think back. I remember a site called dans dirty den with links to celeb pics in about 95.

Greenguy 2007-01-02 06:59 AM

AL4A/Ampland were on their free concentric hosting account back in 96 (I think) - it was somethig like http://www.concentric.net/~al4a/

I'd do more research, but I'm out the door for a trip to Ottawa in 30 minutes |thumb

oldbrad 2007-01-02 07:04 AM

I saw hardcorejunky was around since 96 also. Was a tgp apparently then too.

I don't know where Rick came up for the idea but, back when there was a real ynot, the members had a tgp running. There was no advertising and it was more of a way to share traffic. We had links that said something like, "More Pictures Here" and it went to a ynot page that had links to galleries the members had setup. On the gallery page, we had links to our front pages. Like I said, I don't know if it was new for sure but, it was a long time ago.

The Hun started out with links to directories without index pages. There was noting TGP about the way he started out.

If hes out in Vegas I will ask him. Now I know where Kaiser stole the idea of bannerfree from.

Jim 2007-01-02 12:49 PM

The Ynot thing really wasn't worth crap. Predictably, people came and looked at our pictures and hit the back button to look at the rest. We got very few surfers that went on to our front pages. Probably the only person that made any money off that idea was Rick.

Greenguy 2007-01-04 08:32 PM

I know I linked to galleries as well as free sites and index's & whatever else I could find back in 96 (I think I went to just free sites in early/mid 97)

So I think you really need to ask: Which TGP has the 1st submit form with rules for submitting galleries :D

Thanks for the refinement!

And its looking like AL4A followed quickly on the heels by my fellow Southerners at Adultbuffet.

As I remember, James & Al were good friends back then.
