Affiliates whithin an Iframe
Is it okay to present an affiliate website whithin the confines of an IFRAME so I can maintain my main websites presence throughout, or will this somehow mask the customers identity and render any sale unassociated with my affiliate ID?
Thanks a lot |
Why would you want to open your SPONSOR'S site in a frame in order to maintain your own sites presence? Sales are made by sending the surfer to the sponsor - not by holding them at your site.

I have done this before and I believe many webcam sponsors use Iframe banners so I cannot see any harm on you receiving credits for the clicks.. *Edit* I Opened in a new window, I did it to preserve outward links and I only had to change one page for sponsors on every page to update

Yep, once you finally convince a surfer to click on a sponsor's link, there is no reason to screw with them. Let them go and hope for the best.
And I know you are not talking about this Joe but AFF is offering a nice iframe advertisement :) |
The client has requested it so I was just doing some investigation.
I think the idea is that my client gets a lot of traffic through magazine advertising, so they are asking to be signed up with multiple affiliate schemes to cater for the viewers choice. They feel there presents should remain on each site until at least a fresh page is opened via the 'sponsors' site, I didn't know whether this was feasible as I am new to this particular area. Thanks |

If there is a risk that my client wont receive any credits via the Iframe I would suggest to them that we abandon the use of the Iframes all together.
