installing xpowerlinks script

Hi, how u doing guys?
First of all, happy new year and wish you all to be healthy and wealthy :D

I`ve just bought xpowerlinks script ver.1 and I am going to install it.I am just wondering guys, what advices can u give me, because I always find all the best advices on this board. Also I am trying to keep the existing links and free sites on my domain, because I used it as a hub and I don`t want to brake anything, because all the free sites are listed on link lists already, you know :)
Will that be a problem at all? Do u have similar experience?
thanks for your time guys,
all the best

Was it easy?

I dont see where you would run into any problems. The default folder where the script makes the categories is simply "category". I guess the only problem that could arise is if you have free sites in a folder called "category". If you do just change the folder to make the categories to a folder you dont already have.

I mean am no expert at all, if you have any questions I would highly suggest you talk to the xpowerlink guys, they were more than helpful with me when I was figuring the script out.

The process of the installation is easy, I am setuping it now and I think adding all the categories and templates is harder, but it just takes its time I believe. Will see in the future :)

If you have the money I would suggest you upgrade to version 2 their are a lot more features and it will save you lots of time on reviews. If you don’t have the money now version one will fit your needs until you do. Here are a few simple tips that might help.

1. You don’t have to call the second folder category. Its can be domain.com/links/ or domain.com/free-porn/. I would suggest keeping that part smaller you don’t want your links to be to long IMO.

2. Make sure when you set up your link trades that you configure your backlinks as well as your internal categories to the index.html or htm. They should look something like domain.com/links/amateur/index.html . IMO I find that se's like it a little more. Like I said its just my opinion and it isn’t fact.

3.Their is nothing wrong with using your old free sites on your LL. The only thing I would suggest you do is link them from the root if you have a warning page or use one of your 2 include spots for a "Hot picks" section to go above the submitted links so you have a place to put your new free sites and free hosted sites as they are made.

Well that’s 3 simple tips I could give you and I hope they help. Good Luck |waves|

If it is what you are running on your site very nice looking. Can it run okay on .htm pages, I thought your site had to be designed in .php

With version 1 you do not have the option to use .htm or .php. In version 1 you can only have categories in folders like /amateurs/ or /amateurs/index.html.

I am still working on it and it will take a lot of time.I was thinking about getting the ver 2 as u recommend, because I have the money and thinking about getting someone to design it and set up everything, but not sure.Too much thinking, not moving fast.I am just in the middle of nowhere at the moment, so it will take awhile :)
thanks for your advices mate

Also it takes time, because I asked my hosting reps to untar it for me because I don`t have SSH Access and it takes almost a day this to be done and this will be the third time I am waiting.
First time, they untar it and I installed it in a xpl dir and everything was working fine.
Now they untar it for me and I tried to install it in the main dir, but all these permissions are messed up, so I`ll have to do it manual and finally when I started doing it manually I don`t know why but permission denied to change the permissions. So I`ll have to wait my hosting reps to untar it again.Nice, isn`t it
Thats for now :)

If you have the money get v2 NOW!!! I’m telling you that v1 is good but it lacked major functions that you will need as a link list owner. Your already going to be pissed that not much money is coming in yet and you don’t want to add review troubles as well.

Set one goal and get that done. Then move on to the next one etc....

Well I guess theres nothing you can do about SSH access but the other stuff is very easy if you had a FTP program like cuteftp it would take you less than 10 minutes.

stfuvt 2007-01-08 03:43 AM

yes, but unfortunately I can`t even delete or do anything with these folders because :
Response: 553 Permission denied.
so just waiting for now
