Those stories are always fluff. The 'best' and 'least stressful' is very relative.

The five least-stressful big metro areas were: Albany-Schenectady-Troy, N.Y.; Harrisburg-Lebanon-Carlisle, Pa.; Orange County, Calif.; Nassau-Suffolk, N.Y.; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.
Yeah- ok. ;)

I think Vegas is on that list for their human consoles. No matter where you want to go you will end up surrounded by slot machines in a thick haze of cigarette smoke.

Tacoma, Wash.
Miami
New Orleans
Las Vegas
New York
Portland, Ore.
Mobile, Ala.
Stockton-Lodi, Calif.
Detroit
Dallas

???Mobile Alabama??? PULEASE.. all the other cities listed are either large metro areas or the cities themselves.. but mobile?? it's not a "metro" of anything.. well maybe New Orleans 2 1/2 hrs away..

and I can TOTALLY understand the Tacoma part.. gawddess knows it's GRAY here 9 months out of the year, crazy traffic *tho i don't think even the heavy traffic in NYC can compare to the Non-driveability in Atlanta*, and failing infrastructure all contributing factors. I'm about 25 miles from Tacoma under the same sky and about 1/3 of our workforce are from that area who i see everyday coming in after fighting the traffic looking weary and haggard at 730am.. popping starbucks at our cafe.

I haven't been in U.S.A. yet, but when I was in Leningrad's metro first time, that was stressful.

It is like the world in Orwell's 1984. It has lots of 'layers', it has lots of shops, you can go almost everywhere without going out to the street. If you're not used to it you start to think that 'big brother is watching' - and he was.

It's full of young punks and criminals who are drunk as a skunk from booze and drugs and ready for anything to get your money. I had a friend with me who is local and he knew how to behave with those punks so we were safe. He carried a gun, of course.

We were only sight seeing. After the trip to Morlocks Dungeon I told him one time was enough. But if you ever go to St.Petersburg - which that town is now - you must see the metro. Probably more dangerous now, but worth it.
