Changing mail addy
 

Well, it's been many years that this addy has survived...but...

Seems as though some spamming asshole has decided to spoof the primary addy I always used for free site submissions. For the past couple weeks, it's been coming in waves. One day, it's not too bad...the next day, that mailbox is flooded with bounced mail notices. We're talking well into the thousands/day at times. So many in fact that as quickly as I can select them all to delete, the page refills with more bounced mails |banghead|

I doubt many folks here are still using that old mail address, but it's also always been my submit mail box. So, that's going to have to change...I'll now be using the same mail that's on my profile here at GG&J.

And I'll be having my host completely close down that old mail box, my 2nd ever mail addy in da biz. Goodbye old friend...

Hate when that happens! You think they could get their own damned email to screw up. Ya think we need to resubmit any sites that we sent you from the form in the last week or so?

that really sucks. I´m getting a lot more spam now than I used to and there is no way to stop it.

I still use the same email address I have been using since 96. It does get it's share of spam :) As for spoofing, my GreenguyandJim addresses get hit extra bad for some reason.

Nope, no need to resub anything. This is an old mail addy that I use to submit...has nothing to do with submissions at FPP...fortunately.

The spam itself I was dealing with fine. All mail is pre-scanned on the server so it's harmless, and easy enough to scan/delete the spam quickly. It's the damn bounced mails that have made it untenable to continue this method. They're coming in so fast, it's nearly impossible to keep up. So far this morning, I've deleted almost a thousand...cocksuckers.

I hear ya, my domains have starting to get these emails over the last week or so, time to set things on my server so only one addy per domain will come through.

Gotta do the same thing here, spoofing "anyspammer (at) canucksluts.com" I know I'll use the email on that domain in the future, but I'm going to shut it down for now.

It runs in waves...like they'll not use my addy for a couple days, then BAM! And I'm flooded with bounced mails coming in by the hundreds...bastards.
