how many LLs do you submit freesites to?

lets say on average per day, since it can vary based on niche.

Maj. Stress 2007-01-30 07:10 PM

usually 48

Useless 2007-01-30 07:15 PM

3, 3 and a half.

stfuvt 2007-01-30 08:13 PM

just started submitting to 80 and even got rejected at some of them already
damn
I was submitting to 48 before

oldbrad 2007-01-30 09:15 PM

16. I'll add a few more (mainly people i see around here) but i need to build more and get invites eventually from some of them to their pass only lists. I'll need to put in the work first :)

Beenie 2007-01-30 09:57 PM

Submit to a massive 105 linklists but will need to cut it down... Don't submit every day even though I would like to - trying to do one every other day

Wiggles 2007-01-30 10:01 PM

I started out doing about 120 but I think i'm gonna cut it down to about 40 or so.

RedCherry 2007-01-30 11:47 PM

12 - 40 sites. Like you said, depends on the niche.

Tvduijn 2007-01-31 02:08 AM

I usually submit to 45 lists.....more then enough.

Jel 2007-01-31 02:40 AM

15 -30 here depending on niche. Vast majority of the time just 15 or so.

SheepGuy 2007-01-31 02:56 AM

Almost always 16, sometimes 12, rarely 32. But I mostly submit AVS sites, for freesites I've got it narrowed down to 24 but I might boost it to 30. Can't see any sense in going higher than that without some good partner accounts.
With freesites I might do 2 or 3 a month, AVS's are almost every day.

Danielle 2007-01-31 03:59 AM

Use to submit to well over 100 link lists. After analyzing sales in detail.... 99% of sales are coming from 9 link lists. So now I just submit to 9 link lists on a regular basis.

Hugs,
Danielle

How much time does ti take for you?
just curious :)

JackDaniel's 2007-01-31 08:11 AM

usually 40

skopintsev 2007-01-31 12:24 PM

36 LinkLists at the moment.

bDok 2007-01-31 12:24 PM

Started submitting a week or two ago and had a massive list. After some work getting it down into the 50s. Suspect it will eventually end up around 30-40 and will probs weed some out and some other ones in that require partner accounts.

Can't wait until I have a stock of 50+ or so templates to rotate content thru. So won't have to be designing a brand new site each day. Will just be able to edit things around.

What 9 LL's? :D

I am submitting to 16-20 a day currently, but about to step it up closer to 100 a day.

The only way to know which link list is responsible for a sale would be to code your free sites to catch the referrer and carry that through to sign up. I really wouldn't take advice from someone whose ass is hanging out, unless they're a plumber. It's all traffic, whether you choose to submit to 500 lists or 7 and 3/4. Generally speaking, link lists get their traffic from all the same places: SEs, bookmarkers, recip link trickle, and link swaps.

This looks like a good time to ask a couple of dumb questions.
1- Why wouldn't someone submit to as many as possible? At least every one that generally accepts them?

2- This question is for Danielle- I'd love to know how you got over 100 link list owners to accept your freesites. Don't link list owners prefer that you offer them as hfs? After all, you've had a paysite and affiliate program for some time. For some reason I've always assumed that link list owners would not be receptive to me submitting my own freesites on a regular basis. I could be wrong though, and would love to hear it :-)

That is competely dependent on whether or not the individual submitter feels that it's worth the effort. I personally find submitting to be a very stressful and time-consuming process. Therefore, my list is exceedingly short. I also prefer not to create mirrors of my free sites in hopes that the SE gods and goddesses with bestow many blessings upon them. Yes, I could alter each mirror, but that falls back to whether or not one feels it's worth the extra effort. Most mass submitters simply mirror like crazy in an attempt to grab as much traffic as possible. I've wondered if it's truly worth it, from a sales standpoint, but the people who admit to submitting to all 7,000 link lists tend not to post too much and never really state its value. They must be too busy submitting.

If you have a point, make it. What's the value of an empty remark like that? She knows full well the point of free sites and hosted free sites.

I agree, I love building but I hate submitting and mirroring |yawn| I try to time my submitting so it only takes up the first period of a hockey game. I'll only mirror a site that I feel really kicks ass and since I'm my own harshest critic not many pass that test ;) Also, I rarely spend much time worrying about SE's unless I'm working a small niche where the competition's not too tough.

2) Personally I'd have no problem listing freesites from sponsors, though I've only seen a few in the past. The main problem I see, is the same as it is for HFS, it kind of discourages me from building free sites for that sponsor for fear of redundant content.
