Some photos from christmas and a request :)

The following link is some photos from my christmas vacation... + some comments I have about them. Its pretty funny and kind of enjoyable, and I think you'll enjoy seeing the area I used to come from... (where my mother still lives)

I normally wouldnt post this for public consumption, as it makes me nervous to have my photo on the net because I'm kind of unuasually made.. i'm a big fella.

But right now as I type this, my mother is undergoing an angioplasty (if you dont know, its a procedure that removes blockage from major arteries), and I think it would be really nice if you good folks could stop for a minute and think about her and get to know her a little and put your good thoughts and prayers into action while she's having it done. She's fine, no heart attack or anything, but some major blockage. Lets all hope she walks out of that place smiling.

Of course there are more details but... well i'll keep those to myself

so enjoy the photos and remember to think good thoughts about her and lets pray that she makes it through the procedure ok :)

great page Boogie. I enjoyed it. all my best to your mother and you at this time.

P.S. I remember that grease jar from when I was young... fried chicken and such just didn't taste right if it didn't have some old bacon grease in the mix |jester|

My mom just got out of the procedure. Apparantly they ewnt in in several places, and she's pretty uncomfortable.. but alive and doing well.

So thanks everyone. I have no doubt that your good thoughts and prayers helped the situation.

I certainly appreciate that. it helped me get through this 4 hours wait.

Hey Boogie,
Glad to hear your mom is doing well! My grandma had angioplasty about 6 years ago, and all is still well! Love the pics, and being from southern Louisiana...I love the grease jar! :D

Boogie 2004-01-14 12:04 PM

Basically the full details of the follow up is this.

they ended up putting in 6 'stints' which i'm not sure I entirely understand, but apparantly they're wire meshes that help hold the veins open and keep the plaque pressed up against the wall. That and the angioplasty itself adds up to quite a bit of work. I'm amazed.

But she's feeling well enough to be back to her rotten self ;) She's being awful mean to the nurses, so I guess she's almost back to being her... a person who is very opinionated !!! :)

Glad to have her back :)

thanks again everyone for your support.

jennym 2004-01-14 12:54 PM

Well Boogie, sounds like you understan the stents just fine. They are exactly as you described. You can find a little more info here:

http://www.cardiologychannel.com/ang...y/stents.shtml

And, if it goes well like it did with my grandma, things should be back to normal very quickly!

SirMoby 2004-01-14 05:18 PM

Boogie, I'm glad that your mother feels good enough to be mean becasue few things in life seem to be more satisfying then being mean to people that are taking care of you. I don't why that is but it seems to be true.

I was going to mention that I'm in Virginia and since your were close that next time you should let me know. Then I checked out the location of Wise County and ralized that I'm closer to parts of
Washington, DC, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, New York, Delaware, North Carolina and West Virginia then I am to Wise County.

I love the pics!
