Hmm.. my parents are going there in a few weeks. But somehow I get the feeling they won't get harassed that much :)

Me and a couple of good friends planned a trip to Cuba for this summer :D

Well Cuba was one of my friends idea .. my option was Jamaica but the majority voted for Cuba :)

Yep, yep...it's a great place for boomers and Euros. Americans = Not So Much

Jamaica is a great place but make sure that you stay in the tourist areas. I have some friends that love hiking and they stumbled into an area that only the drug growers should be. It was not pretty.

If we decide to go I'll surely stay on the safe side, and not tempt fate by going in some place I shouldn't :)

I'd like to add that being Canadian we are allowed to Cuba and I know TONS of people that have gone and totally loved it saying it is a great place. My neighbors are going this month again.

BUT they (as do most visitors do) stay at one of the all-inclusive resorts and do not leave the resort. They've been told outside of the resort is a shithole and not safe. hehe

Not sure why but I always thought Cuba was the way you described. Goons walking around with guns, street hawkers trying to get your greenbacks, everyone on the take, etc.

Guess next time you'll decide where to vacation :D

the only Cuba i visit is Cuba Libre. rum + coke + lime woohoo
