do you mean anything specific?

personally, I love it and have never had any problems with it. But I don't leave much $$ in my account, just in case there's any fuck ups ;)

Rumors are circling that they have big problems. I didn’t have any problem with them, but a lot of people said that Epass become unreliable.

well, I hear there's sponsors who's US banks won't process epass right now - I don't know if this is permanent or if it's going to become a bigger problem, so I'm waiting to see what happens. So far I've got my payments on time, and at least I wouldn't lose my money if epass is no longer an option, I'd just get a check. Epass is just more convienent for me.

its been great for me and i like it pretty much, though i never keep much money in there, and lately i keep really low amounts due to all the discussions and dramas all over the boards..

i hope EP will get better and stay..

I think it would be nice if Epass made an announcement, or said something on all the rumours. Make's it seem more a grim picture when they don't say anything. All I've seen so far is in the admin, about changing your password, ect.

But I agree with others, I've had no problem so far and actually like the way it works.

I love it takes 5 min to go to a atm here and another 5 min to the bank

and saves all that time from waiting for the mail

I dont like to keep much in it though

Jim 2007-03-03 07:25 AM

I think if you are going to use it to get paid and remove money from an atm, it is a fine product.

But, you couldn't pay me enough to attach a bank account to it. I've said it many times, GreenguyandJim had a bank account closed because the bank considered Epassporte and offshore bank.

Then ePassporte did you a favour. The bank in question was obviously run by an asshole. I can tell you from experience, if you bank with an asshole you are going to have problems further down the line. You are lucky to have had your account with them closed.

I think by your logic, there are going to be a lot of assholes running banks soon. I had accounts of one kind or another at this bank since I was putting a quarter in an envelope in grade school each week. In the 35+ years that I dealt with this bank, I never had any problems until epassporte. So, how far down the road would I have had to wait until I had problems without epassporte? 35 or more years without a problem does seem to be a pretty good record to me.

When you take into account Jim's past with affiliate progams & paying webmasters, this really is a huge statement as far as how friendly his bank is.

American banks may be more customer friendly than British banks (although from what I see on American TV shows I am guessing the reverse is true), however it is my experience is that in any industry, when a company start screwing you over a minor thing, it is only a matter of time before they being screwing with more important things. 35 years without a problem is good, but it don't mean you will have 35 more good years. Bank policies change, management changes, banks even get taken over by other banks. The bank I first opened an account with as a teenager still operates, but any similarity to the way it was run back then is only superficial. The fact that you have had your first 'problem' is most likely an indication that the winds of change are blowing. C.F. your comments with the comments from (among others) Stuveltje who keeps saying things to the effect of "I have had no problems with GoDaddy, so I'm sure I never will..."

I did pump a lot of money through that particular bank account. And they liked me so much that when my wife started her charity, it was with a Canadian check for $10k. The bank treated the check as cash because I asked them to. This was a brand new account, my name was not on it and it was opened with a foreign check. Is there anyone that has a bank that would do that for them on the board?

It was their security division that shut down all of my accounts with them. They would never tell me why. It took my local branch president that hated to lose my business to finally say the word, "epassporte".

Well, change the last word to "was" and you are probably 100% accurate. Leave it as is and you are guessing. If you are right, good, but if you are wrong, get ready to bail out a friend when the sticky brown stuff hits the spinning thing.

godiva 2007-03-06 08:34 AM

epass been great for me...
the country where i live requires foreign checks to clear for 90 days...and with epass around...i can recvd my comm immediately and withdraw the money on almost all atm here and go to the nearest whorehouse and fuck!fuck!fuck! |headbang|

The big issue that I can see threating epassporte is that they still do allow US online gaming transactions. With the passing of UIGEA, as stated by a few posters, keep the account funds low, just in case.

I have to agree with you Chris.
I may be mistaken but I think that epassporte was originally designed for online gambling.

In the US at least, I would not only keep the balance low but I would also cut any ties to a US bank with it. Thanks to their CS incompetence, I was never able to attach my latest bank. In that case, I think them for that. :)
