LOTR: Return of the King

Finally had the time where we could go see it.

Incredible is all I can think of.

Now I'm on pins and needles until they make The Hobbit, which IMHO, is the best book of them all.

I'm pretty confident this will win the academy award for Best Picture

All this "timed-release" stuff shit me no end...

I am waiting on the first theatre to run all three together...

I went around the holidays and had these two teen girls behind me talking and giggling through the whole damn movie|angry| Simply ruined it for me.

Guess I will just have to wait untill the DVD comes out so I can enjoy it in the peace of my own home.

They did that here the weekend before the official release. The uncut versions of the first two and the theatrical release of the third. Almost 8 hours.

Best line in the movie is when Gimlie told Legous (ok, I cant spell their names) after he killed the elephont (pretty sure that's how its spelled in the book)

"That still only counts as 1"

Your going to sit in a Theater for 11-12 hours?

I aslso just saw it this past weekend. I loved it. Although the very end seemed to drag. It seemed like the movie ended around the 3 hour mark and then went on for another 25 minutes...

Other then that, all 3 were fantastic.

Trev 2004-01-15 11:01 PM

I'm still waiting to see the 3rd... I really really really REALLY hate crowds.... seriously.... HATE crowds.. but I have the extended DVD's of the first two and love them... I recommend them, especially if you haven't read the books. They damn near cut boromir and feramir and their motivations out of the theatrical releases.

I first read the book about 10 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since.

I think the films actually do the book justice, even though there's a load of stuff not essential to the plot left out.

If you haven't read it ... read it. :)

When we went, we sat in a 300+ seat theater and only 5 others was in there so a total of 7 people. That's one reason we didn’t see it prior to internext, we saw TT last year and got there 30 mins prior to start and got the last 2 seats together in the whole place.

I wanna go again

I couldn't stay awake through the first one so it doesn't matter to me since I would be sound asleep.

I had a couple sitting near me the female was French and the guy was translatting it for her quite loudly. After the first SHHHHH, then a quick SHUT THE FUCK UP they went quiet, then Zip. I turn round to look she's on her knees. He enjoyed it much more than me.

Having never read the books, I didn't appreciate the end 25 mins or so as much as my friends that had.

geeze..... when I went to see the last one, all I had near me was a guy that sounded like he was on his death bed... hacking coughing and blowing the whole damn time...

You all mention the very reasons I go to movies on weekday afternoon's when school is in session.

I just hate people. Nothing personal.

It's pretty rare we go to a movie at night. But I'd rather deal with Cleo (unless she snores) then all the plp who talk and hack during a movie.

Other Movie Goers|raygun|

Cleo 2004-01-16 06:26 PM

I don't snore and usually even stay awake unless I find the movie really boring, but I never seem to be able to sit through a whole movie without having to get up to pee about 3/4 of the way though it.

I often go to the movies with my friend Valentina, not sure why actually, she always falls asleep and does snore and even worse she talks in Russian when she is asleep.
