Moving blogs how not to lose traffic?

I have a new blog that has shown some real promise. I had placed this blog on a subdomain and now find it really rates it's own domain and IP. I moved the blog entirely, post and polls and etc, but how do I ensure I don't lose or mess up what is already established?
I turned off pinging so the new version of this doesn't show however, I am unsure as to how to proceed from this point forward in transitioning the blog to it's new home. It sits entirely on it's own domain and not yet linked so to any others. The old version of it on it is still active and live. I hope this rambling explaination was clear.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you want some advice....dont move it.

But if you think you must....read this first http://forums.seochat.com/e-commerce...ion-52600.html

Still feel like you have to do it...this looks pretty complete http://www.seomoz.org/blog/expectati...g-a-new-domain

I think I will pass on the move. Sandbox is icky enough and as I understand it all new domains get it. I don't need a longer stay in the dungeon.
Thanks Walrus!
