If you build it will they cum?

Hi all,

Glad to be a part of this message board and community. Ok i'm a total newb, and I've just built 2 tgps that are still in the works. What I'd like to know is how do you go about getting traffic once you've uploaded your site?

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't trade traffic if you've got no traffic to trade and everything I've read about buying traffic says its a waste of money and unproductive.

Please advice....

Hi creativeseed

Welcome to the board.|thumb

Traffic won't come to your sites on its own. Once your sites are finished start by submitting them to link dumps - they're free - the traffic quality isn't good but it starts you off.

Trade hard links with similar sites - its another source of traffic - and again its free. This should be enough to get you started and you can then think about installing a traffic trading script.

Your sites look very good. One problem you probably know about is the positioning of your top banner on Titty Camp - its partially obscuring your top links.

Cheers :)

Another thing you can do after the link dumps is hook up with some toplists, not great traffic either, but it'll help get you started.

Backlinks from your own freesites is nice too. :D

Thank you so much for the feedback and advice... I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I will fix Titty Camp very soon.

inspired by the insight!

I just want to say thanks to all of you. There is so much to learn, its like cracking a code.

One question Virgohippie or anyone who cares to answer is by back link to your free sites do u mean putting a link from one of your own sites to another one of your sites?

and is there any sort of simple explanation as to how traffic trade scripts work... any anyone would recommend? thanks.

I can't wait till I can contribute... I kinda feel like a mooch.

I believe Virgohippie meant putting a link back to your site on freesites you build to submit to linklists. There are many different ways of generating some traffic and the traffic won't just show up. You will need to actively promote the site to build traffic imho. Best of luck with your site.

Exactly what I meant. |thumb

It's not much, but the small steady trickle can add up over time, and the quick and lasting attention they bring from SE spiders is nice too. :)

Simple explanation of traffic scripts:

Content links point to an encoded url produced by the script. When a surfer clicks on a link they may (or may not) be redirected to a "traffic trading partner" instead of the destination they expected. Traffic trading partners do the same on their end. The one with the most traffic at the end of the day wins... or something... I don't know how the game is played, I just know the rules. |loony|

Thanks for the advice and explantion. I actively seeked out some linkdumps and and sumbitted to a few. Its so exciting to see a lil traffic at this point no matter how minute, but of course I want to see it grow.

One thing that I'm really wondering about these link dumps is do they all accept TGPS and MGPS? its seem like many of the links on them go right to a gallery or video and most link dumps wont allow u to have a referral id if u link to a gallery. Is it just harder to find link dumps that take TGPS or do most accept them?

this one seems pretty good: http://adult-matrix.net but then you have places like this : http://www.adultvideodump.com/ that link to videos and pics.

creativeseed 2007-03-21 09:46 PM

maybe a silly question but can someone tell me what the difference is between a link dump and a toplist?

I search for a bunch of definitions the cozyfrogs webmaster dictionary but found a lot of terms in there way to general like megabyte... it should stick to webmaster terms, you can find that kinda stuff anywhere.

Fonz 2007-03-22 05:52 AM

A linkdump basicly is a page where you can submit your link to and it appears on the page but as more links get added your link will go further to the bottom of the page and will eventually disappear from it.

A toplist is a page that you submit your link to but in order to get a good position on that toplist you have to send hits to that toplist yourself. So basicly you start at the bottom and the more hits you send to the script the higher you'll climb on the list. As long as you'll keep sending hits your link will appear on the toplist (assuming you reach the minimum hits required).

So basicly with a linkdump you'l get "little" one way traffic for a few days and with a toplist you're trading traffic "forever".

creativeseed 2007-03-22 08:27 AM

Fonz Thank you. I was wondering what the distinction was!

traffic even shit traffic using toplists will in turn generate traffic it may be shit at first but it gets your url around the web and over time it wil help , time however is the keyword

You can also use feeder traffic. If you need so many hits to start trading with other TGPs, you can purchase traffic to get those hits out to get hits in return. ;-)

Allfetish 2007-04-19 06:50 PM

You picked a really tough time and tough way to jump into the business. Just jumping in with two TGPs is probably going to be ROUGH. You'll need to work like mad to make it work probably.

Traffic source ideas for you:

Link trades
Toplists
Forums
Search Engines
AVS links lists
Feeder Freesites
TGP recips
Linkdumps
Writing your url on public toilet stalls (just kidding ;) )

Did you get you TGPs listed in the Chamelion Submitter database yet? That might be a good way to get some more traffic....

Ditto. But not "probably"... definitely, absolutely, without question. You're catering to the ever growing legions of free porn hounds by starting with a TGP. They cultivate garbage traffic, and you'll be trading garbage traffic to get more garbage traffic. You'll learn to love this... for lack of a better word, business. With any luck, you'll be entertaining thousands of surfers for free. Seriously, you're going to work hard, and you'll need to have great perseverance. Good luck!

I started with Linkdumps, yet cant ever get those dang auto submit ones to work right. If you can figure them out, the auto submit ones work best. Ad link once, and it goes to 500 sites. No one has yet to suggest traffic exchanges. Manual exchanges suck, but their hits are more valuable. I run an auto traffic exchange called www.Mach8Traffic.info. Register there for 500 FREE hits. I have a PG-13 requirement for adult content, but I really dont enforce it that much.
There are plenty of ADULT ONLY Traffic exchanges out there, and most of them give you 100's or even 1,000's of hits for free to join. The difference between a manual exchange and an auto exchange is that manual ones you have to click go between sites loading, and an auto exchange just runs and runs with or without you. Find some auto surf ones to leave running over night, and earn website hit credits while you are sleeping. The thing about traffic exchanges are that most or all of the hits they generate is from other webmasters, and not many convertable buyers.

Good Luck!!!

true. All traffic (even bought traffic) is good traffic (if you know what you are doing).

u-Bob 2007-05-15 07:12 PM

Build some galleries, include a link to your own TGP(s), submit your galleries to tons of other TGPs. (Most submitters like advanced submitter for example come with a nice big database of TGPs).

Sarah_Jayne 2007-05-16 08:32 AM

These days it isn't so much about 'if you build it they will come' as much as 'if you make damn sure they know you are there they will come'.
