Do you link directly to sponsors or FPA's on galleries & free sites?
 

Do the majority of you who build free sites and galleries link directly to the sponsor or to FPA's?

I can see that each have their own pro's and con's but I was curious if one worked better than the other.

fpas for me :) lots more ability to filter with fpas, and i dont like the sponsor having control over the popup rotation - ya never know when they start putting popups that dont have your sponsor code on them into it.

IMO

Linking to FPAs gives you no advantage whatsoever.., but does add the possibility of losing the surfer as they have to click AGAIN to get to where they want to go.

Using FPAs might be good if you blind link to them which lots of people do.. but if you didnt blind link them in the first place you wouldnt need them.

I read another (baseless) article on linking to FPAs the other day... totally supported by specualtion and assumption.!

I challenge anyone to show me definitve proof that linking FPAs INCREASED their sales.

..again "in my opinion" it is some newbie idea that got picked up, though based in no fact.

alright DD, i can buy that assumption, but let me ask you this; if thats the case then we should link all of our ads directly to the join page, right? i mean they have to click X number of times before they get there so its another possibility to loose them.

i might be odd but i dont link to the join page and i depend on the tour to help sell the surfer... if the fpa is done right then it can help sell the surfer just like the tour pages can and if they decide to click out you can control where they go much more effecively than you could if you were depending on the sponsor to do it

and there are the two sides of the argument for ya sickkittens LOL neither one is right or wrong just opinions so subscribe to one and make some money |buddy|

Not trying to be contradictory BTW DD, just wanted to clarify my opinion :)

I only link to FPAs when the sponsor uses an entrance popup so that way my galleries will get listed at more places. Many TGPs do not like popups on entrance.

Otherwise the faster I get them to the sponsor the better as their tours (hopefully) are designed to sell.
