Cleo or anyone with M3server, need a little help

Cleo, If you can could you ICQ me at 290153480. I just had my server released my M3 server and have a few questions. If you get a chance that would be great.

I don't really do ICQ since it requires me to actually stay in front of the computer.

Just post your questions and I'll try to help you out. :)

I got an email from them with the control panal access but no ftp info or anything. What I am trying to do is upload a copy of everything I have so when the dns promulgates there is no down time. Do I need to change the Name Servers with my domain register or is that done when the domain is added in the control Panal.

Use this

ftp://NameOfServer.simplecom.net

Where NameOfServer is the name of the server that they put you on.

With the user name and password that they gave you.

Got it. I was trying to use ftp.domain.com Makes sense. Also, what is the path? /var/www/html? Sorry about all the questions, just a little confused. I was on a virtual account before.

Web folder path path
/home/USERNAME/web/

MySQL path
/usr/local/bin/mysql

Sendmail
/usr/sbin/sendmail

MatrixFan 2004-01-16 10:43 PM

That's what I need. How did you get that info. Do they send that to you or should I have already known that.|couch|

Also, do I need to change NS's with my register or was it done when I added the domain in the control panal?

Cleo 2004-01-16 10:45 PM

Here is a little script that is most helpful for these things. :)
http://www.tools4webmasters.com/ccpass/cgi_helper.zip
Just put it in your cgi-bin and chmod it to 755.

Thanks for the help Cleo, do you know about the Name servers?

You need to give them your domain name servers.
cobra.simplecom.net 208.220.30.2
ns2.simplecom.net 216.77.84.8
ns1.simplecom.net 208.220.30.14

Also you have telnet access at the same address as you use for FTPing.
Using this less the quotes
"whereis mysql"
would give you your path for MySQL. Do "man whereis" for more info on the whereis command.

Thanks.
