Please review my site

Hey, yall....I finally got off my duff and put together something to hopefully get me back into the linklist game. Sure would appreciate comments, good or bad.

Thanks!

Hey DartDave :)

The 1st 2 pages look good to me, but the galleries are a bit "off" at my high screen res (1152x864)

It looks liek you have 2 cells side-by-side & on the one on the right, the big circle ad is left aligned while the text is centered.

I'd show you what I mean but my Print Screen doesn't seem to be working this morning |banghead|

I got the Print Screen working - this will let you see what I see :)

Site looks good to me. :)

Some places might consider this banner to look too much like a clickable movie, depends on the reveiwer

Site looks good to me, submit away!

Cleo is right but honestly that is pretty clear to be a banner unless a reviewer got a bunch of blind links that morning and hadn't any drinking coffee yet. LOL

DartDave 2004-01-17 06:17 PM

Thank you for taking a peek at it, folks. GG, you were absolutely right, and I have corrected the error in alignment. I completely forgot to check the site using a larger screen size. Doh!

Any further comments from anyone would certainly be appreciated.

DartDave,

Sweet. Did you use the sponsors Gallery Builder?

Thank you, Alpha. No, it's sponsor content, but the simple design is 100% Dave original. ;)

Alphawolf 2004-01-17 08:08 PM

How is that sponsor anyways? They don't seem to be at 100% with the new launch. A broken link and unfinished list, etc...

I got excited to see a nice clean gallery with Ginger!

I like that classic site. Wonder if it would sell...

First porn I ever saw was in '86ish as a friend found a tape of his Dad's and it had a few Ginger Lynn movies. My VCR back then had a cord on the remote...

LOL. I actually sold my Commodore VIC20 to get the VCR.

Somehow I kept forgettin' to give my friend back his Dad's tape.

:D

I'd take the 80's Ginger Lynn over Jenna J any day. She'll always have a soft...er- I mean hard place in my 'heart'.

DartDave 2004-01-17 08:48 PM

LOL, Alpha! I'm feeling older than usual now. Cause I well remember the VIC20 and corded VCR remotes. Likewise that was around the same time I saw my first porn videos.

Regarding the sponsor, I haven't been with them long enough to give a difinitive answer, but signups are looking decent so far. I concur that they may have released the new version of the program a bit prematurely, but I chatted with the designer a couple of times this week, and he's putting in tons of time to get it up to snuff.

I'm banking on there being enough of us around that are nostalgic for the early days of porn to make this subniche worthwhile.

spacemanspiff 2004-01-17 09:46 PM

Ginger Lynn huh? Now there's an oldie but goodie.

Site looks good. I'd list it. :)

Alphawolf 2004-01-18 02:04 AM

I'd *think* so- as long as they can get a fair share of content.

Know of any other classic porn sites?

BTW, does the classic porn site have a webmaster referral plan...if so send me the link so you get the credit for me signing up!

You have a PM with the code. And thank you very much!

Wish I knew of more sites. Then again, perhaps the rarity will work in favor of this sponsor.

Alphawolf 2004-01-18 03:50 AM

Got it and replied...thanks Dave.

plateman 2004-01-18 04:29 PM

Hey Greenguy On that screen shot i couldnt help but notice how your running Xp

is it set up for appearance or performance or what windows thinks is best ?

do you know how to change settings only takes a second and really speeds up things

thanks

plateman 2004-01-18 04:40 PM

All Windows xp users go to control panel click on system

then on top of window click on advanced tab

then you see performance click on settings

a new window will open up and check in adjust for best performance and your pc will be faster and it will get rid of that ugly xp look

thanks give it a try if you havent done so allready before

Greenguy 2004-01-18 05:02 PM

Plateman - I was letting Windows decide for me - now I have to get used to looking at the old Windows scheme's - LOL

plateman 2004-01-18 05:10 PM

Did you change it
you will like it a lot more makes everything run a little faster

Alphawolf 2004-01-18 05:40 PM

Yeah- I hated that stupid Apple look. :D

Changed mine to Classic straight away.

Here's a good place to tweak XP till ya drop:

http://www.tweakxp.com/

The way one tunes XP can make a huge difference. By default there's too much crap running because it neeeds to work for anyone...even your Mom.

A few tweaks and you'll have a faster system on a noticeable level.
