movie free sites need some advice
 

I am about to make a few movie free sites, what's the usual amount of content needed? On most LL's it says 120sec of content, but what if my movies are 30sec in length is it really enough with 4 movies like that on 1 site, or is 6 better or is even more needed?

I see a lot of sites with 4 30 sec movies & that's fine by me :)

Default lenght rule is 120 sec ( min 10 sec per clip) , but some ll wants those 120 sec to be splited in minimum 3,4,6,8,10 or even 12 clips..

12 clips of 10 seconds is a common practice...

120 seconds divided into 2 galleries anyway you want is what works for me. I've never seen it done before but I would be cool with each gallery having 1 60 second movie. I guess I wouldnt want more then 12 10 second clips, something like having 24 5 second clips wouldnt be anything more than annoying to me. The most common way I see people doing it is 8 15 second clips or 6 20 second clips.

Let's say I offered you $100 - would you want:
100 bills?
20 bills?
10 bills?
5 bills?
1 bill?

4 clips, 6 clips...12 clips - it's all the same :)

My understanding would be that if you have shorter clips the surfer may only want to download the last couple of clips (where the "action" is), so it may save on bandwidth?

Am I right or just confused on this one? I haven't made a movie free site yet so I'm just making this up LOL

Sounds good to me and that's one reason I went to 8-15 second clips. The second reason is it gives me more chances for the surfer to look at the pages which have ads on them if he/she decides to look at all of them.

I use 4 19-20 sec clips per gallery and hardcore all the way most of the time. Depending on the content I have to use I try to get different positions in the clips. That way if doggy style appeals to one person and another position appeals to another I got em covered. At least that's what I "try" to do.

And yes, I do burn quite a bit of bw but my sales have also picked up. |headbang|

you also should mix up the number of clips every once in a while to give your pages a different look to avoid over use of templates

Do you actually get decent sales for that? Sounds like a lot of hardcore footage to me.

Sales from gallery pages were basically non existant with pic templates. When I switched over to vids I usually see 4-5 extra sales a week. For me that justifies the extra bandwidth I burn.
