AC Movie Pass down again

The acmoviepass.com domain hasn't been resolving for over 48 hours now. A whois lookup says it's not expired, but this is the second time in a few months that they've just totally disappeared from the web. The first time, they made a post on their affiliate BBS (a week after coming back up) blaming a "server move." (Like, excuse me? - if you're moving your entire paysite to a new server, you should do that before shutting down the old server account to avoid having all your paid members charge back because they have no access for a week, right? Even I know that and I'm a bit slow otherwise :D )

I have yet to understand why people promote them after what they did with the AVS part. Sure wouldn't be surprising if they pulled other crap.

Same here! I only need to be ripped off once to learn.

Is it even the same people running it anymore, though?

Far as I know it is. Course after the AVS dump, I didn't pay any more attention to them. I am surprised they are still going as I never hear any one talk about them and see very few people promoting them. There was suppose to be a group that was asked to stay on in a AEN type system, but I never see any one talk about it, not a word.

Looks like you got your wish. :) Domain is resolving now but affiliate username/password database appears down.

I basically dumped 'em from my TGP and link sites a while ago (after the last big site crash with zero communication to affected affiliates) but I still have a few old free sites with links there so I check the stats from time to time.

Fonz 2007-04-27 03:52 AM

ACMP... I think they still owe me $20 or so, time to get that next check released :D

Same here. I should have known better after what they pulled with Adult Check years ago. I've been too lazy to hunt down old links I have up but I guess I better get on it and pull all of them ASAP. |banghead|

Oh I didn't realize that was them. I remember that. They suddenly told most of the affiliates to get bent and told a small group that they could stay and keep their rebills but only if they sent new sales. Everyone else lost the rebills while they pocketed them. I wasn't using them when this happened but still, I say......

BURN BABY BURN!!! |bananna| |headbang| :D

When AC shafted most of their webmasters, the ones who stayed aboard plumbed a low in business ethics which still nothing else in this industry has come close to.

I'm one of the ones that stayed & if it makes you feel better, they fucked me in the end as well.

Still offline as of this AM, since at least Wednesday night.

Only took 'em a full week and complaints from what must be the three remaining affiliates to put this up:

This is in response to questions and concerns about the technical issues of 26 April:

Though services have since resumed, our main core router had gone down, causing service delays while we worked to rebuild the firewalls.

Please accept our apologies for this delayed posting; we'll do all we can to keep you informed in a more timely fashion in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and your patience.

And of course, the issues were not limited to "26 April" as the entire site was off the net for about 5 days. And they promised to keep affiliates informed in a "more timely fashion" a couple of months ago when all the galleries disappeared for several days and it took 'em a week to even acknowledge the fact then.
