Gay Traffic Advice
 

Are there any gay webmaster that can help me out with this:

My gay links section has grown so large that I am thinking of breaking it down some so it can be a better experience for the surfer. Ok, so say I was going to take my gays links and break them like 5 ways...what do you think the 5 best subcategories would be?

Also, does anyone have any sponsor advice for niche specific gay stuff?

I am not a "gay webmaster" but you might wanna try...

Oddly enough, you can use most of the straight niches in the gay categories.

I'd say this list will give you some good ideas :)

I have gay sponsors listed with galleries provided by each sponsor or you can just sign up and get the links your self.. See my signature..

Like I said, I'm not a "gay webmaster" ....... I may be a "schizo webmaster" ;) but I think if you wanna narrow this down to 5 categories, then see if you can find good solid sponsors with hosted galleries/sites which are gay niche specific, like "Bears" for example. A general gay sponsor will be harder to convert than a specific gay niche one.

Does that make sense?

Obviously check GG&Js sponsor list first....but I use one that isn't listed right now.

I just ICQed Jay with this link....but here it is for anyone else.
They are one of the top gay sites out there right now. Converts pretty good for me...since I know nothing about gay niche...I use them as a good catch all.

I agree with Greenguy's list of categories. I wouldn't bother with "Hardcore" because it is almost meaningless. I specialize in gay ebony/interracial myself. Ethnic gay sites seem to be doing well, I just started a GayBoysofIndia and GayArabBoys sites and am getting traffic.

BlueLoot only has 2 sites that I can see and they are pretty generic gay sites.

I would say the best gay categories are:

Amateur
Twink
Hardcore
Hunks
Bear

I would say those are probably the most popular ones.

And I would have to say that General Gay sites DO convert well if you have the right one. The guys that run Randy Blue have the best converting gay site out there and its a General site. They are also coming out with some new sites here soon :) They have gay sites locked down no one else converts like they do period!

This thread has given me the best laugh I’ve had since the last Green Guy and Jim Radio Show. I worked for a trade exchange 5 or so years ago and sat comfortably in the top salesman position. Then my boss asked for my advice on adding two gay men to the sales force to go after the gay market, I was against it, didn’t even want to be in the same room with any gay men. The Owner hired them my introduction to them was “ here’s Pat he’s our top salesman and a Homo Phob”. I wasn’t to worried about losing my position as top dog because there was no way in hell a fairy was going to beat me out in sales. The following year my income fully doubled, the company’s growth went up six times, I was second salesman all but a couple months and I added several gay men to my list of friends.
After my Homo Phobia wore off the two gay salesmen told me that I literally looked down at my hand after shacking there’s. I learned a sales term for the gay market “DINK’s” (Double Income No Kids) I also learned they make stiff drinks in gay bars. I was shit faced in a gay bar one night and this gay guy told me that he was such a good kisser that one kiss from him and I would want more, I kissed him twice to make sure and guess what? I didn’t want any more. Gay isn’t catchy, it doesn’t make you sick and there’s money to be made in the gay community.

I live in the east side of Fort Lauderdale right next to the beach. Being as everyone who comes to Florida wants to live by the beach the area that I live in has become very exclusive. It has also become mostly gay and lesbian. The house next store to me is owned by two older gay guys who have turned it into a beautiful two story mansion. Almost all the houses that have been bought by same sex couples have been beautifully remodeled. This has caused property values to go insane and guess what basically the only couples that can still afford to buy in this area are same sex couples. :)

Guess I'm luck that I bought a long time ago when things were more affordable or this Single Income Bisexual Bitch would have never been able to buy a home on the east side of town. :D

Gay Niche Categories
 

Hey everyone-
I am gay so maybe that makes a professional in this subject ;) Its like queer eye for the straight porno guy!

In regard to niches, which Jay may want to take into account:
- The twink is overpopulated with free, AVS and paysites. However for a linklist, you will get a lot of sites so it may be good for you as you will get an abundance of submission for this category. However, as a webmaster I usually dont build twink sites unless they are ethnic twinks. As a side note for those paysite owners, I think a twink's first time themed site could still do well. Naked twinks with a little hardcore action is over populated and I wouldn't get into it! For those of you who dont know twinks are gay teens with a kind of lanky, skinny body type.

- Bears and asian gay I think can be a bit tricky to convert as the surfers tend to have highly refined tastes. Webmasters who arent well versed in these niches may have trouble. If you are interested in these niches, I would go with Bears. I have done some gay asian freesites, AVS and TGP pages and havent had great results in conversions even with some specialized gay asian traffic.

- Hardcore would be a good category for a link list - a lot of free sites and AVS sites out there just have posing or softcore, and from the few things Ive read the gay adult surfer tends to be interested in either or. I heard somewhere that gay surfers arent that interested in hardcore, which is total bull! However, if you are going hardcore with your site go all the way. Make it HARD and HOT!

- Latin is still a small niche and I havent had much luck in finding many paysite sponsors out there with the gay latin niche. I think this is a really underdeveloped niche that has a lot of potential, however I havent built for this niche yet so I dont know!

- Gay fetish is hard too because it seems to be split into a more softcore, leather sex kind of thing and then the really hard stuff with S&M, bondage, etc.. I think gloryhole is a good area though as its kind of in between and there is a big fantasy component to it.

- Ebony is a good niche which Im still exploring. I would go for it! Its a fairly sizeable niche and you can combine it with interracial which is supposedly supposed to be the hot niche this upcoming year.

Okay.... well ive totally rambled and gotten off topic. Jay I would reccomend the following niches:
Twinks
Hunks
Hardcore
Ethnic (for Asian/Latin/Ebony/Interracial)
Bears

I think fetish tends to be more specialized and I dont know if the traffic is there, so you could lump it in with Hardcore. I think its a fair enough match and the surfers who wanted fetish would find it.

I also wanted to add that I would reccomend Top Bucks for a sponsor. They have a lot of different gay niche websites which make things easy, as opposed to just having one site from sponsor A and another site from sponsor B. I have had good luck with the following sites: His first huge cock, Gay Facials XXX, Gay Ebony XXX, Muscle Men XXX, Gay Bear XXX and Gay Videos XXX. The other ones are pretty good too. Their new tour for Gay Big Cock Sex looks promising.
