Hey guys, im new to this board. My first day here.

I'm still working on my first tgp / fake tgp site. I figured Id learn all I can and make all my mistakes on one site before I expand.

My site is www.hottihaven.com

Any feedback would help me out.

I currently use JMB Soft's AutoGallery SQL for my gallery rotation. I only have my sponsors galleries currently because I dont have enough traffic so its not worth it for a webmaster to submit a gallery..yet.

1. Friends list / top referring websites: I'd like to have a list of friends that automatically updates to show the top referring websites. I havent really figured out how this is done but I assume it would be easy. Is it basically just pulling the information from my toplist or something like that? JMB soft sells AutoRank which has the option of incorporating a compact list into your main page. Is this how everyone does it?

2. Banner rotation: I signed up with AdBrite but wondering if there is a different way. I've seen various java scripts that rotate banners and I've seen expensive banner rotation software. If you are big enough to have people pay for banner space, how do you manage the banners and what script / software do you use?

and lastly....

3. How do I log into my server via SSH or Telnet? I read that this needs to be done via PuTTY but I dont know anything about that either.

I am not the best one to answer this, but i'll comment on what I pretent to know.

1) Arrow Script is what I think a lot of people use. http://www.arrowscripts.com/

2) I would just use normal code to do this yourself. Don't know how, but Im sure it can be easily done

3) I havn't found many hosts that allow SSH access to their servers. Huge security hole. But they will usually say on their "features" section. And yes, PuTTY is what you would use.

2) You could try something like phpadsnew to serve your own ads (it's free). You might also search for some CMS options out there. I know there are some good plug ins available for them. It might take some time finding exactly what you are looking for. I've tried adbrite (and looked at a few others) myself and they just don't have enough adult advertisers right now to make anything relevant or profitable.

3) You will most likely need to be on a dedicated server to make any use of something like Putty. It is fairly simple to use if you are familiar with a non wysiwyg environment. Your hosting company should be able to fill in the blanks for you on that one.

1: You will have to implement a traffic trading script with youre TGP script. You will find more about this in the userguide to AG.

2: I use http://www.openads.org/ to keep track of both sold space and most sponsor links.

Well guys I appreciate the advice. I think that gave me a lot of the answers that I needed.

Anyone have any feedback or critisism? Any changes you think I should make? I wanted to work out the kinks before I started to heavily promote it.

I was going to say phpAdsNew for banner/ad rotation, which I guess is now openads, as picXX already mention. The original use to be just the scripts (free), I really don't know what the new one is or how it works, haven't been following it.

I think the site looks pretty nice. I would have ads up top instead of sending them to another page. For sure track your ads so you can get the most out of them. I've never used adbrite or anything like it, but seems to me you would make more serving your own ads to your own affiliate programs.

I am no tgp expert, so can't comment on the rest. I think it looks good so far..:)

Thanks Ronnie. Im kind of a control freak so I think I'd prefer to control my own banners like you suggested. I'll probably have to ditch AdBrite. Do adult webmasters use Google's Ad Sense?

I think that today I will add a place for a banner underneath the picture catagories. That would be a decent ad spot I think. I'll try to fit some in other places as well. Anything else I need to change or add?

You can't use Adsense on adult sites, against their terms, hence the reason Adbrite is around.

You should put ads/links as high as possible on your page, highest position gets the most clicks. And the best ads you can, the Stacey one in the middle is pretty blah, need to spice it up, more dramatic/sexual call to action. Keep tracking and tweaking your ads, always, for the best click thru without being blind. They can also get stale after a while.
