Getting listed... Which would you prefer?

Let's say that your free site would get listed, would you rather get listed in just 1 link list with a PR 4, or would you rather that your free site be listed in 100 PR 0 link lists and get the same amount of traffic?

Greenguy 2007-05-25 10:44 AM

Either, since PR has nothing to do with the quality of traffic a site sends.

stfuvt 2007-05-25 10:56 AM

whats the problem to get listed on them both? |bananna|

HowlingWulf 2007-05-25 12:21 PM

I want traffic. In both cases it's equal so I wouldn't care.

stuveltje 2007-05-25 03:44 PM

if i would make a free site to submit, i dont fucking care if i would submit to an pr5 or an pr0 site, i would check which linksite would list me forever:D... getting listed for ever thats the deal:D i still have my first free sites listed at richards realm...those are from 6 years ago.......and goddamn that are some ugly sites but still by the rules:)

again a thing i dont agree with, there where some linksites who got hardly submits or traffic, but the traffic they got was targeting traffic, i choose to submit to those linksites who hadrly sended traffic, because believe me you get sales from those, probably it was not money making for them because most i submitted too are gone, but surely i had profit from it, me with my site between 3 others or my site between 100 others in the same niche

stuveltje 2007-05-25 04:14 PM

mmm my point never thin a linksite who send less traffic is less worth then a bigger linksite, just use every opportunity to promoot your site, dont look at pr or big linksite, just get listed, every linksite has some benefit

skopintsev 2007-05-25 04:14 PM

Have you by chance any 3rd option? I'm rather confused |loony|

What I care about is being listed on a LL that either sends super high quality traffic that converts OR on a category page with no NEXT pages, you know when the first page shows the 20 latest links and where your link will eventually get buried in the backlog.

PR is not as important as the relevancy of keyword that is used for the backlink - i.e. your free site title :D

Also, 1 Linklist is NOT ENOUGH :D 15-20 is better, but no free site mirrors! Again, if you hope to get a quick sale off the initial traffic - then mirrors and submits to more link lists would *PROBABLY* work better for you...

SheepGuy 2007-05-25 11:42 PM

Stu's first post made a ton of sense ;) If you're listed forever that rocks!
It's nice to get a sale from a site you built years ago that you've totally forgot about |bananna|
And a very wise woman who only submits to me every now and then told me it was bacause I had the keywords she wanted. That makes a helluva lot of sense.

Very true. How hard is it to get a good listing for a popular keyword phrase with just a single free site? Why not find out who does get that traffic and submit to them so you can get a piece of it. That is something that is probably overlooked by many submitters. ;)

That is if the list "only" rotates backwards.

Some of my cats have a next page do to the number of links "but" it rotates towards the front so you are at the top of the list once or twice a month. Not by letter but by an average broken down by how many updates I set so it does not matter what letters you use in your title :)

fresh 2007-05-27 08:04 PM

100 because they could all be pr2-4 after the next update :D

tigermom 2007-05-28 03:00 AM

Agreed. 100 is better than one. PR0 will be more in the future. Even if it isn't, PR doesn't matter that much anymore, and I would rather have 100 links from different domain names (and hopefully a variety of servers) then just one.
