Single Click WP Upgrade

I know there must be some of you who like to keep your WP installations up to date. Now there is a single click WP plugin that will do that for you.

I personally avoid upgrading my blogs.

It sounds a bit scary, you have to trust it. And you'd lose all your hacks, I guess.

I usually only upgrade if I'm having a problem with a blog. But if this thing is smarter than me (not hard to do), then I'd gladly use this thing to save time. Maybe I'll try this thing out to see if it destroys my customizations.

That was my reaction too - did I really trust the plug-in?

Anybody use it and love it?

I did check the comments and the ones in English were all very positive.

Have I personally used it? No but not because I don't trust the plug-in. I've just seen a few instances where a plug-in that I use in an earlier version of wordpress becomes a little flakey in a newer version. Or perhaps I'm just paranoid.

I installed this a couple of months ago. It works sweet.

Am I making a big mistake by still using 1.5?

Sarah_Jayne 2007-07-16 08:53 AM

Have the latest versions stopped messing up your links sidebar stuff when you upgrade? I stopped upgrading because I did to the version that messed them up and I simply had too many blogs to have to go and try to figure out how to fix the code.

You should always try to get the latest version, cause the old versions might contains bugs that make it easy hackable.
