Anyone use JMB Soft's TGPx script yet

I was wondering how is it?

I just ordered it last week. Its a lot nicer that TGP Rotator but I am not advanced at using it yet. I'm just starting to learn.

I decided to start my TGPs back up and since there was such a special price for former owners I bought it. It is definitely a lot more in depth than the old versions. So it looks like it is going to be pretty good. I got the server edition, so I like that I can run multiple sites off of one script (of course that means the same galleries show on the different sites.

What specifically makes it nicer than TGProtator?

koolkat 2007-07-12 05:18 PM

It combines both of their products into one, so really you get both AutoGallery and TGP Rotator for the price of one. They have also redone it so that it is in php instead of cgi

TGPX is a nice piece of software and is going to get even better as time passes and new features surface. It's not just a combination of TGP Rotator and AGPSql but it introduces new features as well like an end-user search, multiple thumbs sizes per gallery and a tag system that allows for pulling galleries in more advanced ways.

TGPX comes with utility scripts to aid in upgrading from AGP, AGS and TGPR. It also has a built-in template wizard to help get you started. The template system is a bit scary at first glance but very powerful and not that hard to grasp. The gallery review system is composed of two windows. The control panel opens in a half sized window at the top of your screen and the gallery opens in a half sized window at the bottom. This allows you to easily open the gallery to full screen if desired. There are also several gallery review sorting options like; by type, by format, by sponsor, by category and even an option to sort the galleries randomly.

I guess I could go on but I didn't intent to write a review. I like the script, it's very intuitive and packed with useful features. It's also very new and could still have a glitch or two but JMBSoft is quick with tech support and patches.

Sounds like an affordable solution for people who are looking to get started. It sounds like it has features similar to smart thumbs.

we've got a few customers running it that are satisfied so far.

As in an end-user search? I think I already answered that question above but in any case, the answer is yes.
