how do you get affilates to join?

site has been up not for a few weeks most people have said the site is good (ok few little things need changing here and there but you know) yet hard hardly any affilates sign up and whore it out, as i seem to have found out thats a BIG part of getting traffic to the site.

so how do i get affilates to join?

anyone out there like to help me out a bit, even someone with a few sites that are doing well who might be interested in taking over the advertisment side of things for a % of the site.

i leave it up to u all

get the hottest promotion tools out there
make the design look real good
get your program advertised at webmaster communities
mass mail your affiliates now & then with the latest stuff, newest FHG's, newest sites etc

i'm not a paysite owner
but this is what u should do lol :p

Post regularly in the places you're allowed to post, like the products and services thread at a board like this, so that people see your name and your companies name, and gets a chance to see if your site(s) are something they'd be interested in selling.

Like a lot of selling, repeating your sales message effectively helps. People may not sign up the first or second time they see your posts, they want to see if you are serious.

Study how the more experienced affiliate managers promo their stuff, by studying the products or spam postings on various boards.

And post regularly too, in other areas of the boards, establish yourself as an expert in your niche, and make effective use of your sig file.

It's all about proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation. Get a command of those and you'll have affiliates up the ass. |thumb

What Bill said is useful too, but get that shift key repaired first.

(I kid because I love.)

There's part of your problem. You didn't specify, but I'll assume your affiliate program is 50% revshare on initial sales and rebills. Those rebills are very significant. Almost a third of my affiliate income is from rebills, so I want to be sure a site I promote retains well. New sites don't usually have a lot of content built up yet in the member area, so retention isn't always great at first.

You'll be far better off in the long run learning other ways to generate traffic to your site, then worry about pushing the affiliate program harder when you've been online a year or so. It may be a little slower starting out, but you'll make more money long term.

Some of those other ways include the same things affiliates would be doing to promote you. Submit galleries to TGP's, submit free site to Link Lists, add your site to niche relevant top lists, just to name a few.

my 2¢, for what it's worth

LeRoy 2007-07-26 02:06 AM

Would it be alright to ask the address of the site? Just a little curious|waves|

tigermom 2007-07-26 02:16 AM

Well, for starters, add it to your signature on boards so affiliates even know it's there. I agree with what's been suggested though. Run it for a while, promote it yourself, check your ratios, improve your tour until you get good enough ratios. Only then get affiliates.

And I second what UW said about spelling and punctuation. IMO, forums are not chat rooms and it comes across as more respectful to try and make the extra effort ;)

MissSerena 2007-07-26 07:19 AM

UW ur a mean mean man, but i take your point.
I posted the thread late last night and was not really paying attention to my grammar, or spelling for that matter.

I have been posting to TGP's and posting in every webmaster forum i can find.
The main problem is that i feel i am spending all my time advertising and redoing the site and not creating shit hot content like i know i can. I have got to the point now where i think it would be better to have a webmaster take over the site if not just the advertisment of it for a %. Someone who has experence in the fetish/BDSM niche. I didnt do this when i started even though i have a few offers as i felt that letting someone else in would mean the site would end up not being the way i wanted it to be.
But I would rather the site do well and have really good content than not do well.

Oh here is the site

Yes, I would agree, you do need a webmaster.

Traditonally Ive found that masks or blurred out or facially censored pictures dont sell well.

To quote a surfer..."I feel like Im being cheated".

Good luck with it. The design is confusing to me. Cosplay? Fetish? or are you looking for money slaves?

Definitely something you'd want to work on.

To get the most signups, you need a clear message all the way through, from the first page the surfer sees to the page where you ask for the money. Your "about me" page positions you as a dominant female, but your tour page shows you cuffed to an overhead bar. This can allow confusion at the moment of decision...not what you want to have happen.

Also, you need more than one tour page, and you need a customized join page instead of using the CCBill default page.

Do you have a separate tour where affiliates can send their traffic, one without the current traffic leaks like on your warning page?

(Just throwing some ideas out so you know what to cover with your new webmaster.)

Ramster 2007-07-26 10:40 AM

You are sexy looking so your tour should show that more. Show more of YOU. And I agree with the others that the tour should be less confusing...make it flow. Make it a landing page that explains "about you" then a tour link to go through the site and show you and maybe some slaves you've used or played with then another page of you mastubating/toying whatever.

I've never been a fan of bio, about me, tour, pictures type of tours myself. Once webmasters have confidence in the tour and they think it would sell you'll have an easier time gaining affiliates to promote you.

MissSerena 2007-07-26 10:44 AM

guess its back to the drawing board on the tour and see if i can come up with a better design.

you got any suggestions on what kind of tour would work?

No, none come to mind that would be willing to work for a percentage. You might be better off joining up with a network of sologirl sites.

Toby 2007-07-26 12:22 PM

Let me bottom line this in a way that may make more sense.

Focus on making sure the tour converts and the site retains well, and there will be no issue with finding affiliates.

BTW, your hosted galleries aren't coded properly. They aren't inserting the CCBill affiliate link, but linking direct to your tour.

I am a bit of a language freak, but I'm admittedly not perfect either. I focus on my written communication, and always have, in order to fool people into believing that I'm more intelligent than I really am. (Meeting me is a big let down.) I don't expect people to write perfect posts, but it does disturb me when I can't tell if they person on the other end is an adult or not. Yes, it's a only a board, but it's a business board, not a chat session. It's always best to represent yourself the way in which you want to be perceived by your peers. Unless you're filthy rich (Tommy) and don't give a fuck. :D

Most of what the other people said, and BTW I've always loved Redheads.

Your landing page has too many traffic leaks! Maybe consider making a different landing page for WMs to send traffic too.

I have found that adding some kind of current events type of thing to the landing page helps to make the site look fresh. It might be something like some content was just added showing me doing this, or maybe some kind of schedule that you will be doing this, appearing somewhere, all with current dates.

Also consider making your tour an interlinked multi-scene type.
1: Me and some hot blonde
2: Me in my red corset
3: ....
