Anyone Using Audio Ads?

Anyone using any type of audio based ads or know of any sponsors that offer them for promo? I was wondering how an audio ad might perform compared to standard ads.

Thanks!

I have always stayed away from them, I figure if I hate them as a surfer im sure plenty of other people do, especially while surfing porn. Thats just my 2 cents though, others might have great success with them.

Thanks John,

I know what you mean, I am annoyed everytime I roll over one of those banners that starts an audio ad. But, I wonder if one that required a click to start playing the ad would fair any better...

Anyone else?

They have them - they're called .wav files :D

Seriously, that might not be a bad idea in the whole audio-marketing realm. I too hate it when websites unexpectedly make noises, but an ad where the text advised to "click to hear audio" or something might work (and not annoy)

If anyone knows of any sponsors that have .wav files please post them. This sounds awesome. The imagination is very powerful and if a surfer hears a babe in the throws of ecstacy (or whatever you want him/her to hear) his imagination might get the better of him and make him want to click more or at least be more in the mood to buy. Excellent idea Lowry! |goodidea |thumb

I use audio files on some of my phone sex ads. I can't say whether or not they help sales since those type of sales are tracked by phone number and not a ref. url. I do know they get clicked quite a bit. I just put a text link under the photo that says "Listen to a message from %pso's name%".

I would definitely stay away from them. A lot of surfers are looking at porn at work or at home trying to be hidden from their spouse.

Do any of the old-timers here remember that one ad from awhile back "I've got a special hidden site...just press P on your keyboard to see it!" Or whatever it said. I know that ad pissed off a lot of surfers. It's just not best to embarrass people when you're trying to sell to them in my opinion.

Well... if the ad clearly stated click here to "hear our message", then they would know that if they click the link, they will hear our message. But, I do get your point, thanks.

Well, I like the audio ad idea and would like to give it a try. On my site I have a feature installed that allows me to offer mp3 files in as many categories I want. Visitors can listen to files of their choice. The feature was originally meant to create song albums. lol But I want to use it for a mix of audio sex files and audio ads.

Actually I would be happy to find a sponsor who offers both.
